General Responsibilities:

• Execute Charbroil sourced products from conceptual design to prototype evaluation and into production.

• Work to become a resource to the US based Engineering team and the Sr. Engineering Manager/China by sharing expertise and by providing comments as to the strengths and limitations of Asia Suppliers and their engineering capabilities.

• Uphold the values of the W.C. Bradley Co. as defined by the Value Creation Model.

  Specific Responsibilities:

• In concert with Asian suppliers, design new products from concept sketches and improve existing sourced products.  Create and maintain documentation of sourced products in concert with Asian suppliers/partners.  Lead on-going value analysis and cost improvement efforts.

• Develop Computer Aided Design (CAD) models, drawings, and engineering bill of materials that meet project timeline goals.

• Responsible for function and mechanical and structural integrity of products designed, taking into account Char-Broil product expectations over and above minimum safety standards.

• Input technical concepts into supplier evaluation process to include predicted ability of potential suppliers to maintain product documentation for warranty and improvements.

• Create production and warranty BOM’s and track all changes to existing BOM’s.  Maintain BOM’s throughout the development cycles and product life cycles.

• Work with U.S. product development teams to ensure all products are executed based on customer-focused input.

• Work closely with other Char-Broil functions as well as Asian suppliers to promote Value Engineering concepts in order to improve the value to cost ratio, performance, and reliability of Char-Broil products.

  Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field of study from an accredited four year college. Any advanced degree is a plus.

• Minimum of 5 years experience in consumer products, or related industry, with familiarity with basic manufacturing processes including sheet metal stamping, metal coating, die-cast, and injection molded plastic of relatively complex parts.  Experience with LP and/or natural gas products is plus.

• Proficient at creating complete product designs using full featured 3D solid modeling software, preferably PTC CREO 2 or higher.  Ability to use PTC Sheetmetal application a plus.

• Experience in creating and managing product BOM’s is plus.

• Fluent communication in writing English, oral is plus.

• Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional development teams.

• Willing to travel in Guangdong in most of the working time.
