Primary Function:

Work under the guidance of Asian Senior Quality Manager to manage China Supplier Product Quality per Char-Broil Product Qualification procedures and ensure the implementation of robust quality planning and continuous improvement of product and manufacturing process improvement activities at Supplier factories. Monitor and ensure the effectiveness of Supplier Product Quality Engineering and Assurance.

Specific Responsibilities:

1. Manage Suppliers to ensure product quality aligns with Char-Broil Quality requirements and workmanship standards through efficient and effective execution of First Part Inspection, Engineering Builds & Pilots, Production Builds & Pilots, First Articles Reviews, Product Quality Audits and Manufacturing Process Audits, Factory PFMEA approval and verify tools and /or fixtures for mass production.

2. Audit, identify and drive Manufacturing Process continuous improvement activities at Suppliers to ensure consistent manufacturability and quality of products.

3. Proactive and effective communication with Suppliers to drive Quality continuous improvement projects with determination.

4. Drive and follow up customer complaints, returns, warranty with Suppliers, use different quality tools with effective action plan and implementation with appropriate corrective and preventive actions.

5. Review and approve the Corrective and Preventive Action Report (CAPA) submitted by Suppliers and validate the effectiveness through consistent audits of their corrective and preventive actions

6. Review, monitor and enhance Suppliers Quality Assurance System to ensure effectiveness and consistency in complying with Char-Broil’s Quality requirements and exceeding customers’ expectations.

7. For Engineering Change Requisition (ECR) related to products, need to follow up and coordinate with Char-Broil US Development Engineer to issue ECN (Engineering Change Notification).

8. Prepare and establish Inspection Protocol and hand-over to Char-Broil Inspection team for Inspection execution.

9. Coordinate with Char-Broil US Quality and Development Engineer to qualify the critical components before mass production.

10. Conduct/support Product Verification with Char-Broil US Quality from a consumer use perspective.

11. Establish and work on New Product Design and Development Toll Gate for new products, approves Factory PFMEA and control plans.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering or equivalent

2. Minimum 7 years’ experience in consumer products industry, preferably outdoor products industry and familiar with manufacturing processes including sheet metal stamping, deep draw of complex parts and coating processes.

3. Experience in Supplier Quality Assurance with strong pro-active communication skills

4. Working knowledge of international quality standards, e.g. ISO 9001, etc.

5. Good communications in written / spoken English and Mandarin

6. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams within the company and at the Suppliers

7. Willing to travel extensively and work at the Factories location within China every week and need to travel to south east Asian supplier occasionally.

8. Require participating in routine Conference Calls with U.S. Team before and/or after standard office hours
