Job Purpose   

The quality assurance engineer will take the responsibilities of on-site audits and product inspections to ensure the product quality consistently meets Basketville quality standard. The candidate will also be responsible for quality defect root cause analysis, problem solving, quality plan implementation, and quality control process validation throughout the production cycle

Responsibilities  

·       Conduct on-site product inspections according to inspection criteria to ensure the product quality meets Basketville quality standard

·       Conduct on-site quality assurance audits to monitor the effectiveness of quality control process throughout the production cycle

·       Provide the root cause analysis and problem solving in case of any quality issue or customer complaint

·       Collaborate with the supplier to execute quality improvement plan and monitor on implementation result

·       Search for new techniques and methodologies to improve product quality. If appropriate, apply/deploy them in the manufacturing process

·       Participate the on-site pre-production and pilot-run meetings

·       Provide on-site support to product development team and sourcing team on sample inspection

·       Other tasks assigned

Competencies

·       Ability to recognize and avoid conflicts of interest, keeping the best interest of the company paramount and your reputation for honest and fair dealing intact.

·       Over 5 years of experience in quality assurance inspection and management, preferably with major retailers: Target, Walmart, Ikea, TJX.   

·       Knowledge in handicrafts preferred: cottage industry, handwoven baskets, metalworks, and wooden furniture.

·       Expertise in the use of quality tools and principles such as FMEA, 8D, and PDCA.

·       Good analytical skills with the ability to thoroughly analyze and interpret data.

·       Passionate and positive attitude. Strive for high performance and product quality.
