Title: Senior Software Engineer(java)



Key accountabilities

· Assume complete execution responsibility of small to medium size project independently

· Understand business requirements through direct interaction and define the scope of work

· Design and development of Java -based applications

· Maintain and support Java based applications

· Ensure that work performed within the group is supportable and completed within the overall IT strategy of company

· Ensure that work is completed to a sufficient level of quality

· Ensure adherence to change management processes and assist in facilitating the ongoing review and enhancement of these processes

· Works under minimal supervision to meet goals set by management

· Create and maintain quality documents and follow the process defied for development



Skills and experience



Essential skills

· At least 4 years Java development experience in a commercial environment

· At least 2 year experience on JSP, HTML, Javascript (Front end technologies)

· At least 2 year experience on Database modelling experience

· Practical experience in the Struts framework

· Experience in OR Mapping framework

· Practical experience of using RDBMS, e.g. Oracle, SQL server

· Understanding UML modelling concepts

· Experience on standard application servers like Websphere

· Experience on standard IDE like Web Sphere Application Development/RAD/Eclipse

· Understanding of Object Oriented design with the ability to comfortably navigate around a large Web Application

· Familiarity with Unix

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English



Desirable skills

· Hands on SQL and PL/SQL experience

· Experience in OBIEE

· Experience in Flash/Flex

· Experience & good understanding of full development life cycle

· Experience in the use of a source control management system like PVCS, Clearcase

· Experience with WebSphere Studio development tools a strong plus

· Written and oral Japanese would be a benefit
