Job Description:

The Senior AC-DC Field Application Engineer (FAE) supports our customer's engineering teams with evaluation and design-in of power management mixed signal ICs, Gate Drivers and Power discrete MOSFETs/SiC/GaN for AC-DC power supplies, Server Power and LED Lighting applications.

In this role, the candidate will work with a team of sales engineers and FAEs to support a key power supplier/LED lighting customer(s) based in China. These activities include close co-operation with product marketing, applications and development groups in North America, Korea and Europe,

Your focus will be on AC-DC power solutions. The position requires a strong practical understanding of AC-DC power topologies such as Flyback, Forward, 2-Switch Forward, LLC, Half bridge, Full Bridge and Bridgeless PFC topology.

Responsibilities:

• Present ON Semiconductor AC-DC power solutions to customers;
• Recommend the best topologies and products, assisting with evaluation and design-in;
• Develop strong technical relationships with the customer's R&D staff;
• Develop an understanding of the customer’s systems and requirements to become an application/subject matter expert;
• Assist in the definition and development of new products;
• Develop demo prototype to key account customer to highlight company product performances;
• Provide technical presentations and seminars to customers and at conferences;
• Develop circuit simulations/power loess calculation for AC-DC systems using Pspice, Simplex, PSIM, Mathcad etc.

Qualification:

• Master's Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Power Electronic/Automation or Bachelor's Degree with solid design experience in AC-DC power conversion;
• Minimum 3 years field application experience or 5+ years R&D of 10W to 1kW AC-DC power supplies;
• High level understanding of power supplies/Server/Telecom power electrical sub-systems;
• Knowledge in SMPS circuit simulation and PCB board layout techniques;
• Familiar in different power topologies such as flyback, forward, 2-switch forward, LLC, half bridge, full bridge, and Bridgeless PFC topology;
• Good communication skills and capability to gain respect and trust with the customer. Be proficient in both Chinese and English.
