职位描述

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for managing and directing the proper testing of Outform's products to make sure they meet international standards and can withstand the retail environment. They will be involved with the electronic product development team to make sure the product is designed in such a way to be resilient and robust for retail. This person will work closely with the project teams to also make sure the amount of testing is aligned with customer expectations while also meeting basic Outform standards. They will be instrumental in creating and documenting a lot of these Outform standards, mainly for the electronic components we work with. The overall goal is to anticipate problems and reduce failures in the field, which will save Outform money in the end. They will also need to train the project teams and vendors/suppliers on how to do proper testing and guide them on electronic standards.


Minimum Requirements (Must-Have):

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or similar technical field
  • At least 8 years of experience in product development or quality assurance.
  • Electrical engineering background
  • Technical expertise in electronic hardware development (schematics, PCB layouts & BOMs, etc.)
  • Experience testing software functionality as well as validating software code.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical QA testing
  • Understanding of certification standards related to electronics (CE, FCC, UL, etc.)
  • Extensive experience doing product development and production in China
  • If Chinese, must be fully fluent in English and have at least 3 years of work experience abroad (in US, CA, UK, EU, or AUS)
  • If Foreigner, must have at least 3 years of work experience in China working directly with Chinese vendors


Candidate Requirements (Need to Have):

  • Extensive experience managing supplier quality engineers (SQE) in China
  • Experienced analyzing quality of electronic components (PCBAs, PSUs, Cables, LDCs, LEDs, etc.)
  • Familiar with fixture materials and production processes (metal, plastic injection molding, MDF & wood, etc.)
  • Ability to create detailed quality standard documents and train team members and vendors to do the same.
  • Deep understanding QA testing procedures (Aging, durability, emissions, etc.)
  • Understanding of production processes and experience advising factories on proper QC processes (IQC, IPQC, FQC, etc.)
  • Experience working in international company, in managerial position across multiple teams, projects and productsStrong management sense and is willing to further develop management skills and responsibility
  • Significant experience with statistical analysis
  • General familiarity of manufacturing equipment & processes
  • Report and hand all issues in a professional manner
  • Able to coordinate various quality issues and update on a daily basis
  • Strong interpersonal & communication and training skills
  • Honest, keen in details, hard working, team player and responsible
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and under pressure
  • Able to travel around Guangdong frequently
  • If Chinese, fluent written and spoken English
  • If Foreigner, at least basic conversational Chinese


Additional Skills (Nice to Have):

Experience with retail displays

Mechanical engineering background

Familiar with ISO and SA8000, experience of factory audit

If foreigner, fluent in Mandarin Chinese

Efficient and fast reaction in multitasking environment


Job Summaries:

  • Develop quality system to ensure high product and process quality
  • Create database of quality standards and test methods for commonly used electronic products (LCDs, LEDs, media players, controllers, sensors, PSUs, cables, etc.)
  • Develop and implement detailed quality assurance plans for hardware and software of new electronic products.
  • Write detailed specification documents and teach team and vendors how to do the same.
  • Instruct team on proper QA testing that needs to be done based on product use case, functionality, and retail environment.
  • Advise team on certification standards for electronics and liase with 3rd party lab for testing.
  • Review factory testing methods (IQC, IPQC, FQC) to make sure all functions of the product are tested on the production line and defects are handled correctly.
  • Help our suppliers to make continuous improvement on quality system and process.
  • Organize the audits in the supplier (Quality/Social/Lab).
  • Organize quality assurance training for sourcing and product engineers.
  • Recruit, train, manage and evaluate team members regularly.
  • Report to China Office manager and head office on regular basis.
