Primary responsibilities:

· Ensure Raw Material Supply Availability

o Work with operations team on material purchasing plan to support production. Ensure continuous of material supply.

o Escalate material supply issue and work with the team within region and globally on potential path forward.

o Provide material management data for review and feedback on potential improvement in material management process and planning.

· Execution of the ESI Category Sourcing Strategy at the Site Level:

o Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified sourcing strategy, cost, quality and deliver targets; assess tenders and quotations from potential suppliers

o Deliver briefs, updates and reports as and when required

o Provide feedback to Regional Sourcing Manager on sourcing strategies and develop ideas and strategies for improvements to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid in business performance and work towards continuous improvement.

· Supply Base management:

o Proactively scan the local market place for spend consolidation opportunities and initiate first level engagement with potential local suppliers

o Drive and proactively maintain strategic partnership development with new and existing critical suppliers

o Identify, evaluate and implement opportunities which optimize costs at the site level, and drive projects in coordination with supervisor and sourcing managers.

o Ensure that contracts with regional and global vendors are actively managed in terms of pricing, rebates, quantities committed, etc.; must assure contract periods are tracked and maintained

o Proactively engage other Regional colleagues, identify and secure opportunities for additional Global Key raws materials

o Lead negotiations for local contracts, improved prices and terms of business with local suppliers

o Participate in regional contract negotiations, providing site specific input

o Asses and evaluate suppliers and undertake perfomance reviews for the site to ensure contract compliance and manage peformance improvement activities.

o Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issuess

· Other functions:

• Interface with Site Operations, Quality, R&D, Product Marketing, and Supply Chain

o Ensure compliance to copmany quidelines, purchasing policies, and Quality and EHS procedures

• Support and participate in supplier audits to ensure compliance and minimize business risk, including supplier financial risk assessment and supplier business continuity plan.
• Mentor junior Purchasing Specialists in purchasing processes and negotiations

Essential Qualifications:

o Possess strong purchasing experience of 3-5 years, preferably in a multi-national manufacturing setting; Chemical industry experience a plus

o Possess a Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Finance, or related fields

o Possess keen commercial savviness, intellectual and emotional maturity, analytical thinking and excellent business acumen to identify and exploit opportunities as they arise

• Ability to contribute to strategic, long term goals while achieving short term operational goals

o Work effectively across all functions in the Company.

o Business analysis and presentation skills required; market and economic analysis skills a plus.

o Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, as well as demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels.

o Demonstrated negotiation skills and experience in establishing and maintaining influential relationships with suppliers.

o Positive attitude, self-starter and proven ability to work in a team environment.

o Accomplished Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills. Experience with SAP and/or JDE a plus
