This position will work on Tommy Hilfiger products.

POSITION SUMMARY: 

  

 In charge of Research & Development team for Mens & womens outerwear in Asia. Responsible for Fabric and materials sourcing with good development skills and has quality mindset for relevant material end use.

Strong leadership skills and able to inspire, coach and develop a high performing team。

  

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:    

• Lead & Build a strong and proactive R&D team in Asia for Menswear & Womenswear Outerwear

• Provide leadership and coaching to the team in Daily Operations

• Research and analyze market trends to identify suitable products presenting to the line.

• Research and develop new material based on ideas and information from the EU design and PD team. Pro-actively seek for newness by attending fashion/fabric shows regularly

• Source the optimal material and supplier per request of the product line managers in the design brief each season

• Organize fabric presentation seasonally for each individual design team of different department

• Interpret and develop design ideas from concept/idea to samples/mock up

• Find and develop the right materials according to calendar timelines, target prices, sourcing policy, and quality standards

• Develop and implement strategic, R&D plans and performance for the team.  

• Research and source new potential business partners

• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with product development team, designers, supplier, quality assurance, and other related counterparts in   order to ensure performance

• Review and evaluate supplies performance

• Perform other duties as assigned by Management, Provide ad hoc support & Project to company management

• Attend trade fairs in Asia and Europe.

• Frequent travel is required

    

Job Requirements:  

• Strong fashion sense and market intelligence, creative and innovative, striving for excellence at all time

• A minimum of 10 years relevant experience in apparel design or product development R&D

• Bachelor’s degree in fashion design or textile or related discipline

• Good experience in European Brands

• Good Fabric knowledge & strong in material sourcing

• Good communication and presentation skill

• Proactive, Mature, Self-initiative, responsible, organized and a good team player

• Strong leadership skills and able to inspire, coach and develop a high performing team

• Good command of spoken and written English, Cantonese and Mandarin

• Knowledge of PLM system is a plus
