Purpose of the Role:

This specific role of the Warehouse/logistics Manager is to manage all the logistics requirements of the regional hub designed to meet customer service objectives whilst achieving minimum overall operational costs. The role holder is responsible for defining, providing, controlling and commercially managing all warehousing and inventory management within the scope of the market/area.

This includes all activities from receipt (of international & local materials, finished goods and returns) to preparation for despatch of finished goods orders to customer. The role holder will ensure that service objectives are met and the right capabilities (3PL or Diageo staffing, training, systems, processes, and commercial agreements) are in place for finished goods distribution centres. This will include the day - to- day operational management of contracted 3PL service providers.

Key Accountabilities: Warehouse Management, Customs Management & Transport Management.

• Primary accountability for all operational activities on the warehouse site(s) in line with approved process standards.
• Ensure that inventory and non-inventory items are receipted and despatched as required to fulfil Diageo business needs.
• Ensure that inventory and non-inventory items within storage are protected from damage and loss in line with local and CARM directives.
• Ensure that inventory is tracked through location SAP status and that regulatory requirements (e.g. Customs and Excise) are met.
• Ensure that the warehouse site is clean, safe and secure, wastages in operations are a minimum
• Develop service and value improvement plans for warehouse, track and report regularly
• Track and prepare variance analysis reports for expense vs budget
• Manage the relationship with the 3PL operational team as well as internal customers who receive services from the warehouse
• Ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of deliveries to external customers. i.e. Delivery truck/vans are loaded with the correct product in the correct configuration & on return truck/van inventory (non-sales/returns) and sales are reconciled accurately and to schedule.
• Managing customs operations, codification and compliance for smooth container movements

· Holds 3PLs accountable for agreed scope and KPIs, keeps team focused on key priorities/projects and sets measures and milestones to ensure things happen as planned.

· Ensure that customs and excise regulations are observed and respected (Bond store management)

· Responsible that all administrative processes in his area of responsibility (both electronic and paper)

• To be accountable for all invoice payments to warehousing vendors, and resolution of claims payment processing
• Ensure that CARM, EH&S and Security standards are observed and respected by local logistics staff and external contractors.
• To manage and develop relations with internal and external stakeholders in order to achieve service needs consistently

Entry Level Requirements – Capabilities, Skills & Experience:

· Good understanding of supply chain and logistics operations

· Functional expertise in warehouse management processes, transportation and customs, systems. 3rd party and supplier contract/performance management

· Minimum 5 yrs of logistics experience either with 3PL or CPG company with proven track record of delivering cost and service performance

· A solid appreciation of the Health, Safety and Environment as well as security requirements for warehouse/logistics operations

· Continuous improvement skill set (Lean, Six Sigma or similar).

· Practical outlook with bias for action

· Experience in supplier / 3rd party / outsourced logistics solution management.

· Experience in contract development, defining SLAs, processes, procedures and KPIs.

· Influencing and collaboration skills with multifunctional stakeholders.

· Good command of English (written and spoken) and Mandarin
