Scope of Responsibility:
The Admission & Marketing-Communications Manager promotes and represents the school in local and international community forums to maximize effectiveness of admission and enrollment, and to create and maintain relationships that support the mission and objectives of the school.
To manage the daily operations of Admissions Department, developing a strong customer service culture to ensure delivery of a first-class applicant experience. In addition to managing a proactive admissions team, this is a strategic role that requires the post-holder to develop strong student recruitment and conversion strategies that ensure NCIC-Immersion continues to recruit well in a challenging economic climate. This is a senior role that requires strong liaison and cooperation with other senior managers across the school.
He or she coordinates with senior administrators to develop and implement strategies to collect, analysis and communicate data to ensure resources are allocated effectively. The Admission & Marketing-Communications Manager will also coordinate with senior administrators to perceive value of the school through community outreach and building of relationships. The manager is responsible for identifying and conceptualizing opportunities and developing projects in the local community and beyond to enhance the reputation of NCIC-Immersion. The manager will oversee coordination and strengthening of internal and external communication and brand image messaging within and beyond the school.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Admissions:
- Manages the daily operations of admissions team. Workloads must be prioritized to ensure that service level agreements are met and key deadlines achieved;
- Develops and ensures that admissions and recruitment procedures are followed in line with the admissions policy and regulations, advising on operational difficulties that may impact the successful recruitment of students;
- Develops and oversees the annual admissions plan;
- Be responsible for the development and implementation of student recruitment and conversion strategies to increase enquiries, applications and conversion to families across the schools;
- Ensures the marketing needs are serviced and to provide customer feedback to Brand Marketing Office of ISS-ULink to ensure that the suite of marketing materials products is relevant and appropriate to effective schools’ recruitment objectives;
- Regularly analyzes enquiries and admissions data; advises the senior management of enquiry trends;
- Ensures that all student recruitment activity is managed within budget;
- Delivers strategic projects to enhance efficiency and delivery of the recruitment and admissions service;
- Liaises with and working closely with the IT team to ensure the business systems used for student recruitment & admissions are fit for purpose;
- Leads recruitment seminars and makes speeches as a representative of the schools;
- Undertakes any other responsibilities as required by School Director and/or Principals.
Marketing & Communications:
- Serves as the primary spokesperson for NCIC-Immersion through all appropriate channels, including community outreach, broadcast media, the internet, and social networks;
- Establishes the Marketing, Communications, and Admissions as an integral component of ULC/NCPA leadership;
- Works with Brand Marketing Office of ISS-ULink to oversee the governance of NCIC-Immersion’s branding, as well as governance and management of various internal communication vehicles, including but not limited to the internal newsletters, general marketing materials, teaching brochures, staff/student/parent handbooks, intranet, public social media, internal email system resources, and other next generation communication channels;
- Communicates and represents the school’s vision and mission internally and to the general public;
- Maintains existing and cultivates new relationships with NCIC-Immersion stakeholders;
- Develops and monitors communication program’s annual objectives, performance measures and budgets;
- Plans, develops and maintains effective channels of communication with internal and external audiences;
- Develops communication strategies and action plans for NCIC-Immersion;
- Works collaboratively with administrators, faculty members and community volunteers in planning developing public relations programs and strategies;
- Manages the operations of Mar-Com Department, with direct responsibility for personnel and budget;
- Advises on appropriate professional development opportunities for team staff members;
- Demonstrates excellent social skills, cultural understanding and business insight;
- Compiles and analyzes statistics and reports to inform stakeholders;
- Establishes and/or documents marketing and communications operating procedures.
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, or Marketing/Public Relations
- Minimum of 8 years or above experience in a similar position; experience in a western overseas organizational environment desirable
· Strong copy writing & evaluative and report writing skills
· Effective planning
· Thorough knowledge of current approaches to marketing, communications, and constituent relations
· Sound organizational skills, self-motivated and creative
- Language proficiency in English, Mandarin and Cantonese
- Able to work irregular hours and one weekends, when required
- Flexibility in adjusting to organizational growth and change
- Willingness to be part of a professional learning community i.e. a community focused on learning for all stakeholders including students, parents, faculty and local staff
