Description:
One of the fastest growing consumer electronics companies is currently seeking an experienced Contract Manufacturing Manager that will be responsible for the commercial operations with the manufacturing partners. This individual will be responsible for managing the supply chain and operations at Tier 1 contract manufacturers, managing the assets and equipment in the facility, and collaborating with the Ops and Eng teams to ensure efficient manufacturing operations to meet demand. You will also collect the key operations metrics and feedback from cross-functional teams as a critical input for our long term strategy development. You will work closely with Hardware engineering, Operations, Finance, Legal and other cross-functional teams to create an efficient and innovative supply chain.
Responsibilities
· Provide on-ground, real-time support to the Factory Ops, Product Ops and other teams that work with our CM/JDM partners.
· Collaborate with Factory Operations and Product Ops teams to drive ramp and sustaining operations to meet demand. Develop contingency plans as needed.
· Validate the claims from CM, especially related to yield loss, idle time and labor retention. Propose negotiation options for cost optimization.
· Track purchase price variance (PPV) and credits for materials price difference, especially during shortage.
· Identify cost improvement opportunities for sustaining programs by collaborating with Factory Ops, Quality and DFx teams on the ground.
· Facilitate equipment reuse and transportation between CM locations
· Conduct regular asset audits at CM locations.
· Review end of manufacturing (EOM) plan in detail with CM/JDM partner to ensure all aspects are covered and executed well, including E&O liability minimization, asset disposition and continuous support post EOM.
· Audit and manage CAPEX partner work at both CAPEX partner sites and at CM/JDM sites during ramp and sustaining phases.
· Support supply chain sustainability programs to ensure best practices are implemented at CM/JDM facilities.
· Collect the key operations metrics and feedback from cross-functional teams and publish regular report to.
Minimum Qualifications
· BS degree in business, industrial engineering or equivalent
· 5+ years work experience in managing Tier 1 CM/EMS/JDM suppliers and manufacturing activities
· Experience in process improvement and cost reduction
· Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin
· Strong analytical skills with Microsoft Excel or other equivalent tools
· Strong project management and cross-functional teamwork skills
· Work in fast paced and self started environment
· Ability to travel as project required
Preferred Qualifications
· MBA or Master degree in industrial engineering or equivalent
· 10+ years work experience in managing Tier 1 CM/EMS/JDM suppliers and manufacturing activities
Ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple work threads to maximize impact
