The candidate will be responsible for the management of the Optical Line System (OLS) portfolio including product roadmap, revenues & margins, product lifecycle and customer technical engagements, ensuring customer satisfaction and improving the growth & profitability of the II-VI Photonics Solutions business. 

  

The role will include the development and implementation of a strategy to maximize the P&L benefit of ongoing software developments in support of OLS and other A&L product lines.

  

The role will involve significant interaction with external customers, suppliers, contract manufacturers & industry together with internal R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality & Sales.

  The role will require experience in the design, development, sales or procurement of optical networking equipment and knowledge of optical system architectures including hardware and software. The role also requires an understanding of the optical components used to build modern optical networks including amplifiers, monitoring modules (OTDR, OPM & OSC) and add/drop architectures (ROADM, MCS).   

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  

• Proven ability to drive business strategies to maximize P&L benefit

• Multidisciplinary background in optical network design, sales & marketing

• Good understanding/knowledge and/or experience in optical transport and optical transmission systems

• Experience in optical network equipment hardware and software development including YANG & NETCONF models

• Capable to manage a high value product portfolio and meet the revenue/margin expectations

• Develop product roadmap & customer engagement strategies to grow the OLS business

• Lead cross-functional teams to ensure that OLS products are launched on time and on budget

• Be flexible and work efficiently in a global, multi-site, multi-cultural environment

• Demonstrate leadership and the ability to work independently when required

• Ability to excel in a cross-organizational, cross-cultural, global team environment

• Proficient computer skills, experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, Email, internet access

• Excellent communication skills, highly proficient in written & oral English language
