Job description
The role of the sales specilist, in charge of CC Power/storage, is to develop on-going IBM business relationships with clients and provide solutions to their business needs. This requires a thorough understanding of at least one assigned industry segment of a major industry. Leads cross-functional sales/support/perform teams, taking optimum advantage of all appropriate resources. Selects the appropriate offerings and route to market that are designed to meet the client's business objectives and provide an optimum financial return to IBM.

Maintains an effective business relationship with the client's management team.
Responsible for identifying opportunities and developing solutions using effective distribution channels. Accountable for total customer satisfaction, market share, and IBM revenue within the client base, and acts as the primary IBM interface to focus accounts within the assigned territory.
Develops new approaches to establish and maintain an effective relationship with clients by working with senior management.
Utilizes an in-depth knowledge of industry segments and develops hybrid coverage plans based on validated customer buying behaviors.

Communication/Negotiation:

Leverages all IBM and partner/influencer resources and negotiates goals and approaches to optimize profit and customer satisfaction and is held accountable for the results.
Advises other sales and marketing professionals on territory sales strategies and plans.

Problem Solving:

Analyzes a number of clients' business plans and applies a high degree of creativity to solve complex issues.
Identifies and executes solutions for complex problems associated with the territory sales function.
Demonstrates the skill proficiency levels for this profession position.

Required
