Job description

    

Manage the School library, to manage, develop and promote the library within MIS In order to ensure that an effective resource and information service is provided to the MIS community.

    

Responsibilities

    

1. Performs circulation desk procedures, such as checking in and checking out materials, registering patrons and collecting fines.

    

2. Manage the library with reference questions and direct patrons to suitable resources.

    

3. Manage in Purchasing supplies.

    

4. Manage Maintaining library records.

    

5. Manage the receiving of shipments to the library.

    

6. Shelves library materials and reads shelves.

    

7. Manage with creating high standard library programs and displays which support the needs of the school community and promote the library as a safe place for study and leisure.

    

8. Liaises with parent helpers, training library volunteers and student library prefects.

    

9. Manage patrons with mechanical operations of library equipment.

    

10. Promotes and fosters reading.

    

11. Demonstrates collegiality.

    

12. Participates in continuing professional development.

    

13. Performs any other duties as may be required by the head of School, for the benefit of the school.

    

Key competencies

    

1. Bachelor's Degree, Library relevant major.

    

2. Relevant working experience is required.

    

3. Good command of English in oral and written

    

4. Keen in Library, positive and team spirit.

    

Special Conditions

    

A suitable candidate will hold appropriate certification as a School librarian or will be working towards a certification in Librarianship/ school librarianship. Bilingual candidates required. Candidates must be computer literate, excellent people skills, previous experience with working with children and teenagers from different cultures in a school environment. Candidates must demonstrate a positive attitude towards reading and research.
