The Role：The Product Development Manager is responsible for leading the R&D for the launch of new products and optimization of existing products in the consumer product sector. He/She will, within a multidisciplinary, hands on approach, collaborate with various cross functional and external partners to enable the creation of innovative products that meet consumers need.

    

    

Major task:

• Be the R&D lead in the innovation cross functional team.
• Manage and conduct consumer, corporate customer and competitor research to identify the potential and relevant market demands.
• Plan and develop product innovation with internal and external partners to turn conceptual ideas from concept to market launch.
• Develop product development proposal and business plan, that cover Technical and Financial feasibility, commercial plan, and operational implication.
• Coordinate Product Development Committee to review product development proposals and performance of existing products.
• Use creative and innovative problem-solving skills to unblock challenges and ease the product development process.
• Participate in the identification of new suppliers, contract manufacturers and partners for specific project needs.
• Researching new and current raw materials and applications.
• Work with Engineering in the creation of new product and product costing.
• Plan and mobilize Sales and Marketing in the commercialization stages.
• Develops and manages R&D budgets.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor degree or above in business, marketing or engineering
• 5-10 years’ experience in Management role, familiar with technical product development, preferably in consumer product or consumer electric industry
• Superb business acumen and consumer insight
• Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment: flexible, self-directed, creative, hands-on and team player
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams
• Strong leadership, mentoring and facilitation skills
• Strong project management and business planning experience
