An exciting opportunity for Quality & Compliance Specialists to join our rapidly growing Shenzhen team, The Crest Company.

ROLE PURPOSE

This role proactively manages the quality and compliance requirements of multiple factories and vendors in China through collaboration with the Philippines teams and directions from the Quality Compliance Team in Australia. The quality and compliance requirements encompass both ethical sourcing and technical requirements for technology and electrical products.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES

Quality Assurance – Ethical Sourcing

· Understand and assist factory audits to ensure corrective actions are appropriately undertaken. Assist with the Philippines team to monitor audit status and renewal process before expiry.

· Assist vendors with low cost and appropriate solutions to audit issues that arise.

· Complete new factory site visits and assess suitability and capacity to operate to a standard that is acceptable to Australian retailers. Previous working experience with Kmart is highly desirable but being familiar with other major Australian Retails such as JB HiFi, Target, Big W, etc. will be considered as an advantage.

· Attend customer seminars and training sessions relating to ethical sourcing and process improvements. Facilitate and implement the necessary requirements arising from these seminars/trainings.


Compliance Requirements


· Ensure new products meet quality standards by reviewing new products and performing initial functionality tests. Record all the findings as per the parameters defined and make recommendations where applicable.

· Ensure products meet compliance requirements by obtaining compliance documents that validate compliance or following up on requirements.

· Communicate and coordinate with test laboratories to achieve the desired outcomes and approvals necessary for products.

· Carry out regular factory visits to ensure compliance requirements are being met.

· Ensure factories resolve identified issues and complete rework according to agreed plans. Assist with outlining the rework criteria and procedures.

· Research and advise on new product compliance requirements.


General

· Quality and compliance administration support as required.

· Any other deliverables aligned with the role as required.

· Be across all the Kmart Australia projects and maintain constant liaison with Kmart Australia QA on product requirements and queries.

· Perform all Kmart Australia QA release for Crest and ensure correct data is captured on Microsoft Dynamic AX (training will be provided)

· Assist Crest Team in China with technical queries/issues and provide possible solution. Escalate to QA Manager in Australia when necessary.





SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

· Ethical sourcing and quality compliance background - preferably in electrical or consumer electric products.

· Knowledge of standards, regulations and compliance requirements for exporting, preferably for Australia.

· Experience in dealing with factories and understanding their challenges of producing to meet price and timeline requirements.

· Product audit or laboratory testing experience is highly desirable.

· Language – Strong verbal and written English language skills.

· Collaboration – Ability to influence outcomes through excellent communication, persuasion and negotiation skills both verbal and written.

· Detail – strong attention to detail with ability to methodically ensure all aspect of complex plans are methodically and accurately executed.

· Planning and coordination capabilities – Ability to plan, coordinate and manage the execution of allocated deliverables autonomously to agreed timelines.

· Matrix management - Ability to have multiple dotted reporting lines to Australian based category managers as allocated by project. Ability to be self-directed and work out priorities with ambiguity or competing priorities that may arise from reporting to multiple category managers on projects.

· Learning mindset – Open to continual learning and personal development in pursuit of excellence.

· Attitude – Ability to generate high levels of energy with a focus on results and success.

· Travel – travel will be required.
