Position Summary
The Global Language Co-ordinator leads and supports the multilingual language teams working on projects as part of the global Project Management service. The LC acts as a language consultant for the customer and ensures that all the language tasks meet the quality and customer requirements within the specified deadlines
Responsibilities
1. Manage and facilitate the translation phase of multilingual localization projects.
2. Co-ordinate, support and coach the designated language teams by providing direction, expertise, and hands-on help.
3. Co-ordinate with the client, Project Management Team and/or other resources on major language quality issues.
4. Acts as the designated Language Consultant / Contact for the client and work in partnership with the Project Management Team.
5. Manage and centralize customer and internal language assets (style guides, glossaries, TMs etc.).
6. Responsible for the overall language quality on each project.
7. Assist in the design, review and sign-off of language quality processes and initiatives.
8. Ensure all Quality processes/standards are consistent across all languages.
9. Ensure all language work is planned, scheduled, and carried out correctly.
10. Contribute and sign-off on Project plans.
11. Ensure all communications are customer focused and of the highest quality.
12. Ensure all Company policies are adhered to at all times.
13. Assist PMs and Management with any vendor or language team performance issues.
14. Provide reports/feedback to Senior Language Co-ordinator and Management on Language Quality issues.
Qualifications:
1. At least two years experience as a Translator/Reviewer with emphasis in software localization (preferably MS software localization).
2. Strong ERP and Terminology experience
3. Knowledge and experience of Localization industry standard tools - e.g. Trados, Helium, LocStudio, etc.
4. Knowledge and experience of Translation Memory formats
5. Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills in English.
6. Strong and pro-active customer facing skills.
7. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
8. 4-year college/university degree or above; preferably a Degree in Translation/Applied Languages
9. Highly responsible and patient;
10. Self-starter & quick learner; Ability to learn new technical skills, programs and applications quickly;
11. Written and verbal skills in another foreign language in addition to English (German, French, Spanish, etc.) are a plus;
12. Good organizational skills;
13. Ability to solve problems and make decisions quickly and creatively;
14. Ability to analyze and prioritize workload;
15. Strong time management skills.
