Principle Tasks:
1. Drive cost reduction, price and contract negotiation and Component/Supplier Selection Process for Mechanic components together with Supply based Engineering (SBE) and the different R&D sites
2. Define commodity strategies, preferred/strategic suppliers and supplier strategies
3. Negotiation of Volume Purchase Agreements (VPAs), long term Price Books and step pricing
4. Negotiation of best logistics (lead time, VMI or buffer stocks) and quality T&C´s in line with the requirements of ADVA and our CM´s.
5. Build relationships with key decision makers of our suppliers
6. Trend scouting of market-, product- , technology- and supplier trend.
7. Install an early warning systems about potential material shortages, increases in lead time and allocation situations
8. Close cooperation with different R&D sites globally
9. Early involvement and collaboration in Product Development Projects to assure components with best cost/performance ratio are selected and availability for pre-release and series production is guaranteed.
10. Drive component and supplier rationalization
11. Supporting Product Line Management in driving costs reductions (Design-to-cost/manufacturability/test/innovation and material cost reduction)
12. Management of Escalations in case of material shortages, allocation
13. Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)

Supplementary Tasks:
1. Close cross-functional collaboration with GCE, R&D, Product Line Management (PLM), Supply Chain Management, QM, Operations
2. Support of strategic procurement activities within ADVA globally
3. International collaboration with different ADVA sites
4. Other duties as required.

Skills / Qualifications / Training / Experience:
1. Degree in mechanical Engineering and/or Business Administration with strong technical understanding
2. Experience in Telecom/Networking Industry and/or Mechanic Industry
3. Deep understanding of the Mechanic and Machinery Industry (e.g. sheet metal, etc.)
4. 3 - 5 years of work experience
5. Very good analytical as well as communication skills
6. business-fluent English
7. great negotiation skills
8 Team Player, ability to work under pressure, reliability, mobility
