Principle Tasks:
The Manager NPI Supply Base Engineering (SBE) will be the focal point for global supply based engineering function. The Manager NPI SBE will develop the skills of their team to support their contribution to ADVA design commodity teams to provide technical support for supplier selection, qualification, usage, and lifecycle management. The Manager NPI SBE will drive alignment with the CTO organization regarding requirements for supplier selection, including areas such as technology and capabilities. The Manager NPI SBE is dedicated to driving continuous improvement within our supply base by assuring ADVA receives the best total value for all purchased design parts. As Well as managerial aspects, the SBE manager role is very 'Hands on with an expectation to directly manage commodity suppliers in the PCBA/PSU area.
1.Manage SBE team in supporting set up and running of ADVA commodity teams.
2.Manage NPI Quality engineering team in supporting NPI quality processes / improvements during new product introductions.
3.Drive strategic quality improvements within our supplier base, implement quality analytical process to all monitoring and targeted improvement with supplier engineering capability
4.Work with NPI management team to set a strategy for the SBE team, align strategy with Strategic purchasing teams for commodity team set up.
5.Ensure SBE goals and role is communicated globally across the CTO organisation and aligned with the requirement of the CTO organisation.
6.Drive Preferred Vendor List (PVL) adherence, identifying opportunities to leverage PVL suppliers for new sourcing projects & cost reduction. Drive Approved Vendor List to optimise for Multiple sourcing strategy and DfC and cost reduction
7.Ensure the SBE team is able to act as the technical interface between Purchasing and the Engineering Teams on a project basis, assist R+D in the selection of technology provider, where applicable ensure SBE participate in design reviews and standardization. Provide technical expertise for alternate sourcing recommendations. Provide the DFx support to R&D for design improvement.
8.Drive strategic supplier development for ADVA's performance and technology needs.
9.Support failure analysis for design commodities ensure appropriate level of root cause analysis is performed and work with supplier quality teams to ensure long term corrective actions are implemented to prevent re-occurrence.
10.Ensure SBE function supports Supplier Technical Assessment during site audits.
11.Support the NPI process and complete the required tasks under each Keydate relative to SBE function
12.Manage the implementation with suppliers ADVA defined quality Operating processes and procedures including but not limited to; DFM, FMEA, MTBF, Gauge R&R, Cpk.
13.Complete Development plans and assessments for SBE team members.
14.Ensure SBE team receives training and information to keep them abreast with advances in their technical areas.

Supplementary Tasks:
1.Work with NPI Management team to plan long term development of the SBE function.
2.Lead Global CTO area improvement projects aimed to improve the global NPI or CTO capabilities.
3.Support advancements in NPI Processes and tools.

Skills / Qualifications / Training / Experience:
1.Has 8+ year NPI, manufacturing process or quality control experience with telecommunication products
2.Familiar with manufacturing process of PCBA and Mechanical fabrication.
3.Project management/quality management-6 sigma experience and skill will be preference.
4.Bachelor degree or above. Bachelor in Electrical, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering
5.Self-motivation and team work player.
6.Open, honest, loyal.
7.Ability to lead and impact/influence in cross-functional, global teams, including push for continual improvement within the team.
8.Strong combination of business and technical knowledge base.
9.Advanced analytical and strategic problem-solving capabilities.
10.Fine-tuned communications skills (both written and verbal) Fluent written and spoken English.
11.Excellent influencing skills.
12.Ability to focus suppliers on ADVA specific needs, through excellent supplier management on all needed supplier management levels.
