MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

    

-      Support SMS divisions in Northeast Asia with their implementation and continuous improvement activities of effective compliance programs within Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption, Competition Law, Trade Compliance and Data Privacy);

-      Monitor regulatory developments within Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption, Competition Law, Trade Compliance and Data Privacy and ensure that compliance procedures are fit for - and applied in accordance with - local regulations;

-     Guide SMS divisions in the region, for example by advising local management and BA global compliance on region/country specific laws, regulations and requirements, providing internal employees and external business partners with high-impact awareness, communication and training and assist in design and implementation of controls in local business processes – it must be easy to do things right;

-      Support and guide SMS Northeast Asia regional organizations in their work with compliance with internal global compliance policies and procedures, such as with business partner compliance due diligence and training as well as management of high risk third parties (distributors/resellers, sales agents, customs brokers, consultants and other administrative suppliers);

-      Execute a governance and oversight role, identify compliance risks and report to regional business managements and SMS BA global compliance, and drive mitigation efforts;

-      Support local compliance investigations and remediations, and provide assists in compliance related audits by global internal and/or external audit teams; 

REQUIREMENTS

• 6 or more years’ experience from a law firm or a  in-house compliance or legal role which has included at least two of the areas Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption, Competition Law, Trade Compliance and Data Privacy/Cybersecurity law
• Bachelor of Law Degree. A Masters is preferred.
• Fluent in English both verbally and in writing.
• Experience navigating a large, complex organization and managing stakeholders interests using a matrixed organization
