Summary of Position:

Position’s primary responsibility is to support platform and cost productivity initiatives that support a savings target of $7.7 million dollars.  Position responsibilities also include managing critical sustaining projects and high impact product transitions for new products.  Position will engage with each Category, Engineering, Supplier Management, and Contract Manufacturers as required to complete projects.

Responsibilities:

·        Lead project teams to identify and implement both platform and cost productivity projects.

·        Work with Engineering and Supplier Management to realize and track platform and cost productivity projects after implementation.

·        Coordinate between Supplier Management, Project Team, and GMO to review quotations for accuracy and platform implementation.

·        Prepare, present, and maintain component and technology platform charts.

·        Support metrics to support both platform and cost productivity targets.

·        Identify and present new platform opportunities to both Engineering and Supplier Management.

·        Support both Engineering and Supplier Management in driving to consolidate both component and technology platforms.

·        Travel to both component (Tier 2) and contact manufacturer (Tier 1) locations in order to understand and resolve issues (production or otherwise) as required.

·        Ability to lead, manage, and document regularly scheduled project team meetings and drive projects to completion.

·        Coordinate pre-pilot with Contract Manufacturer for entire project team (i.e. Category Management, Marketing, Engineering, ATE Team, Quality, etc.) as needed to support regulatory tests, functional tests, IHUTs, packaging tests, etc.

Qualifications:

·        Has ability to multi-task and direct multiple projects at one time to meet deadlines.

·        Possess strong written and oral communication skills.

o   English and Mandarin Chinese are both mandatory with Vietnamese as a bonus.

·        Possess strong interpersonal, management, and leadership skills.

·        Provides solutions that are imaginative, thorough, practical, and consistent with organization objectives for a wide range of difficult issues.

·        Identify key barriers/core problems and apply problem-solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations.

·        Is self-starting, self-motivated, and a goal-oriented team member.

·        Possess both the ability to work independently and lead a team to accomplish tasks.

·        Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education.

·        Has a minimum of 5+ years manufacturing experience with managing and leading product development projects a bonus.

·        Possess a broad knowledge of project management procedures, principles, and techniques to the completion of complex assignments.

·        Has excellent computer skills including proficiency with common office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS-Project, and Oracle.

·        Is willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally up to 30%.

Accountabilities:

·        Balanced Scorecard Targets: Component and Technology Platform Savings, Platform BOM %, Technology Platform %, Cost Productivity, Tariff Avoidance, Gross Margin %, and Gross Margin Dollars.

·        Operate with considerable latitude to independently determine and develop approach to solutions with instruction limited to results expected.

·        Receive technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.

·        Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

·        Create and maintain up to date project reports (schedule, budget, meeting notes, etc.)

·        Ensure purchase orders are placed as needed.

·        Complete assigned projects according to project release timeline and within budget.

·        Responsible for continuing to improve as an associate, manager, and leader of RSC.

Relationships:

·        Reports directly to the Project Management Office Manager.

·        Platform and Cost Productivity initiatives coordinated with Technology Platform Manager.

·        Effectively lead multi-discipline Project Teams.

·        Maintains an effective working relationship with all Category Management, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, etc. team members critical to the execution of assigned projects.

·        Maintains an effective working relationship with product suppliers and contract manufacturers.

·        Maintains a proactive working relationship with all related stakeholders.
