Job description
IBM is continuing to expand our Automotive Team in the Greater China Group.
Accordingly, we are now looking for highly motivated, entrepreneurial, results driven and analytical Business Development Executives to drive our presence on the local Chinese market and to cultivate new business opportunities with new and existing clients through in-depth analysis, and developing long-term business partnerships by creating superior value propositions.

You will be working with the existing local and global sales teams to develop a go to market strategy, lead IBM single- and cross-brand teams in customer pursuits and orchestrate the larger IBM organization to identify and develop the most attractive opportunities for potential engagements.

You will be responsible for the proactive development of long-term, strategic and high-value large deals - ideally with a transformational character bringing together all of IBM's capabilities. Therefore deep skills in understanding the client's industry and business as well as a thorough understanding of the client's industry, including industry trends, industry business processes, industry financial measurements and performance indicators, and key client competitors in their industry is needed.

In addition, the role requires the ability to develop extensive executive and senior management relationships in client organizations.

Required Skills:
- Understands client's organizations and cultures
- Develops and executes a relationship plan to address both IT and Line-of-Business organizations, leveraging other subject matter experts, executives, and thought leaders as needed to provide value to the client
- Builds relationships with senior client executives, earning a reputation as one of the client's trusted business advisers
- Demonstrates a high level of business acumen and applies a thorough understanding of the client's business, organization, strategy and financial position
- Skilled in consultative selling, with a deep understanding of the client's needs and IBM capabilities
- Understands and navigates IBM to identify, acquire and coordinate a team of critical resources needed to address client needs. Integrates IBM in front of the customer providing one face, one IBM strategy for the client
- Understands brand strategies and how these translate into solutions which address client needs
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, preferably in business or marketing
- At least 5 years experience in the sales role and at least 2 or more years experience in the automotive industry
- Demonstrated record of achievement and quantifiable success
- Strong presentation skills including both development and delivery.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% with occasional weekend assignments.
