Merchandiser (Shipping)
Zenith Products Corporation is recruiting for a Merchandiser. Zenith is a well-established, medium-sized company located in New Castle, Delaware in the United States. Our company manufactures consumer products found in most major retail stores such as shower curtain rods, liners and rings, as well as mirrored medicine cabinets, shower caddies, and wood, wire, and plastic shelving and storage cabinets.
The Merchandiser's role is to support the vendor management team analyzing the validity of costs provided by our vendors for any new Request for Quote (RFQ). This person will be responsible for communications and reporting as required back to the US office for entry into our database. This position reports to the New Products Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
Know retailer customers such as WM, The Home Depot’s shipping system
Must understand the requirements for all international shipping documents such as Commercial Invoice, Bill of Lading, Forwarder’s Cargo Receipt, etc.
Track purchase orders to ensure that they ship on time and correctly
Work with freight forwarders as necessary to ensure bookings are made and all other needs are met to have product ship as requested
Ensure that all documents for DI or POE shipments are prepared in a timely manner and are accurate
Complete any customer specific requirements for all shipments and provide information directly to customer or input into their system as prescribed
Keep all information organized and report as required on shipment activity by customer and vendor
Coordinate with vendors if consolidation needs exist to get product available and loaded into containers in a timely and efficient manner
Gain a clear understanding of our cost system and what each cost means and how it is calculated
Calculate all appropriate costs as required for new projects such as landed costs, direct import costs, etc.
Understand applicable duties and HTS codes based on the type of product, origin, and destination
Analyze information returned from vendors to make sure it is reasonable compared to other similar current products if appropriate
Report key dates and other information back to US office as required
Keep RFQ information well-organized and track the status of all requests
Minimum Qualifications:
BS/BA in Engineering or Business
3 years of experience in related field
Highly proficient in MS Office (Advanced in Excel)
Strong English Skills in Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening
Exceptional communication skills
Additional Desired Experience and Abilities:
Ability to multi-task to manage many shipments simultaneously
Capable of working in a fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication
High attention to detail and thoroughness
Willing to work flexible hours to meet deadlines
Superb organizational skills
