DS ASIA PACIFIC LIMITED is the Asia/Pacific liaison office of Direct Supply, the largest provider of equipment and services to the USA Elderly Healthcare (Nursing Home) Industry. This is an exciting opportunity to join our Asia/Pacific team in the early stages of its development and rapid growth.
Mechanical Engineer
Responsibilities
1. Report to Senior Engineer, DS Asia Pacific Limited based in Hong Kong.
2. Focus on Healthcare & Furniture Products; assist in other product categories as needed.
3. Provide Asia/Pacific expertise on materials, mechanical design, various manufacturing process, documentation, certifications, test plans, and OEM/ODM product development.
4. New product development and improvements to existing products. Perform hands on troubleshooting and corrective and preventative analysis.
5. Work independently and at the direction of project teams. Coordinate and collaborate with Asia engineering team and Asia/Pacific Suppliers.
6. Ensure Asia/Pacific Suppliers clearly understand specifications, drawings, and requirements from Asia engineering team and are able to meet expectations.
7. Evaluate supplier performance and provide training and guidance as needed.
Requirements
1. University Engineering degree holder in mechanical
2. 2 years' work experience in OEM/ODM project at factory or international buying office (experience in furniture and/or house-ware products will be advantage)
3. Strong written language and oral skills in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
4. Excellent interpersonal skills, able to communicate and interact well with staff of all levels; from junior workshop operators to management team in Asia.
5. Responsible, flexible, hands-on, and able to think creatively.
6. Frequent traveling to supplier/ manufacturing site may be required (depends on project status)
7. Work independently to evaluate a product and write up a proper report may be required (depends on project status)
8. Preform product inspection before shipment and write up a proper inspection report may be required (depends on project status)
9. Experience with FDA, SFDA, UL, and related certification is a plus.
