POSITION PURPOSE 

 ·   As business partner to merchandising team, managing and supporting private brands engineering projects. The engineer will cooperate with internal teams to complete product qualification throughout onboarding process and engineering change management, support benchmarking, product requirement development, and resolution of product performance concerns for assigned product categories. 

 ·   Conducting engineering evaluation to determine product design features and performance to bring value and convenience to end users. Support new product introductions, product compliance, factory engineering and testing capability validation, cooperation with Global Product Engineering team, suppliers, sourcing leaders and service providers. Integrate all available supplier, factory and product data and analyze metrics and reporting to effectively monitor quality, service, cost, and risk of each process. 

 ·   Monitor and implement continuous improvement and corrective/preventative action throughout each process. In addition to engineering and quality knowledge, having good business acumen and good financial knowledge is preferred. The engineer works in diversified culture environment as an individual contributor and potential to grow as project/team leader. 

 ·   Support sourcing team in the process of assessing new factories from a technical perspective. Attend PLR (Product Line Review), discuss with relevant departments to assess potential risks before sample approval 

 MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

 ·   40%-Engineering project management including onboarding testing, product change management, product requirement development, and test protocol review, 3rd party testing project and service provider management. 

 ·   20% Support business review activities such as PLR, OTB by providing direction to suppliers regarding product requirements, customer feedback, VOC collecting, analyze and convert to CTQ/CTQ, and generic testing and training in THD onboarding processes; ·

   20%-Conduct financial and value-based calculations, summarize the findings for the business in presentation quality format and communicate findings to key stakeholders 

 ·   20%-Complete resolution of product performance concerns, provide general product Engineering guidance and knowledge or evaluations as required to deliver short term business goals 

 ·   Willing to travel overnight between cities, 20% might be on traveling 

 ·   Capable of build cost structure, understand design for value and flexible to expand responsibility to more categories 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

 ·   3~5 years working experience in smart home products (IoT), home electrical products and/or power connections products; product engineering, quality or manufacturing related. With 2+ years’ experience in project management is preferred 

 ·   Understanding of product costing and Bills of Materials 

 ·   Proven ability to execute and deliver on time. 

·      Experience working with OEM suppliers through the product development cycle  

 ·   Good project management experience 

 ·   Good communication skills – English Oral / Written, Mandarin is plus   

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & Competencies (Competitiveness, Composure, Courage, Curiosity and Functional Competencies) 

 ·   Electronics or Electrical related Engineer background is preferred  

 ·   Solid knowledge in electronics, wireless technology and/or lighting areas 

 ·   Experience in the electrical/electronic areas, Internet of Things (IoT), and/or lighting industry is preferred 

 ·   Continuous improvement program development and project management (FMEA, APQP, PM) 

 ·   Experience working in a manufacturing and/or product development environment including design for reduced Manufacturing and Assembly costs is add-on 

 ·   Experience in retailer or online business would be preferred 

 ·   Ability to work in multi-culture team environment 

 ·   Problem solving capability 

 ·   Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
