SUMMARY
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will use engineering principles to provide efficient solutions to the development of processes and products, ranging from small component designs to specific-use products. The position will work in all stages of product development, from research, design, manufacture and testing.
Projects can vary significantly, from researching and developing new products and materials, to improving existing products and production processes.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(other duties may be assigned)


·Developing a project specification with overseas & domestic colleagues, often including those from other operational, sales and engineering disciplines.
·Prepare the quotation documents such as RFQ, tooling list.
·Prepare 3D modeling and 2D engineering drawing and complete engineering documents
·Developing, testing and evaluating theoretical designs.
·Discussing and solving complex problems with manufacturing departments, sub-contractors, suppliers and customers.
·Making sure a product can be made on budget, reliable and perform consistently in specified operating environments.
·Managing projects using engineering principles and techniques.
·Planning and designing new production processes.
·Producing details of specifications and outline designs.
·Recommending modifications following prototype/samples test results.
·Considering the implications of issues such as cost, safety and time constraints.
·Working with other professionals, within and outside the engineering specialism.
·Factory visits to work with engineers on both design and manufacturing initiatives.
·Weekly or bi-weekly video conference engineering meetings with overseas head office (may require to work late due to time difference).


QUALIFICATIONS
·Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 8 years' mechanical design experience of mechanical components and electrical products, experiences with outdoor products are preferable.
·Strong knowledge of design techniques, principles, tools and instruments involved in the production and use of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
·Strong knowledge of mechanical technology, such as mechanical properties of plastic, rubber, metal and prototyping, as well as their processing and assembly technology i.e. injection molding, stamping, die casting, decorations (including camouflage).
·Strong knowledge of packaging design and printing practice of gift box and blister
·Good knowledge in tools design, mechanical devices, and their application for motion produce, mechanism and other applications.
·Some knowledge of product hardware & software, such as electric circuit boards, processors, chips, etc... an advantage.
·Familiar with FCC, CE and RoHS regulatory.
·Applicant must be proficient in usage of 3D modeling such as Pro/E Wildfire and 2D drafting such as AutoCAD, and artwork design such as Adobe Illustrator.
·Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
·Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, oversea colleagues, and vendors.
·Excellent ability in reading and writing English is required, and fluency in listening and speaking English is preferred.
