Strategic Account Manager
The Role
Reporting to General Manager - Supply Chain, the job holder's major responsibilities are to:
l Provide company-wide co-ordination for a range of target customers at 3PLs, 4PLs, BCOs, OEMs and end user side
l Identify market potential with thorough understanding of terminal capability; increase market demands by joint-sales calls with carriers, 3PLs, 4PLs, BCOs, OEMs and end user side
l Lead the team to work closely with Customer Experience team to develop products
l Drive the team to support Carrier Sales team to ensure a smooth transition of new business to Customer Experience team within business units from the end of the sales cycle
l Enhance the onboarding rate by following up closely on customers concerns
l Be responsible for the tactical account plans, create and implement sales and marketing plans for the team
l Develop and maintain relationships and alliances with business partners, customers, suppliers and vendors
l Promote Modern Terminals brands at Company and Business Unit levels as well as liaise with Business Units to strive for consistent delivery of Brand Promises
l Drive business plan and functional projects across Group Sales
The Person
The ideal candidate should have / be:
l Bachelor degree preferably in Business Administration, Marketing or Logistics Management with minimum 8 years relevant experience in ocean and logistics or supply chain management
l Experience of sales process management and solution based selling
l Knowledge in supply chain industry, ocean and ground transportation, warehousing, PO management, China government and customer requirements
l Knowledge in ocean carrier, freight forwarding, 3PL or 4PL business models and service management strategies
l Able to work across all levels of customer organizations, understand their needs and manage their expectation and requirements
l Good presentation, facilitation and negotiation skills; able to influence, gain buy-in and secure business from management teams
l Good analytical, problem solving and strategic thinking skills
l Experience in the full Microsoft Office suite and other sales support tools
l Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
