This will be a great opportunity for a highly experienced DBA to work in a team focused on building a electronic market-making & high frequency trading system.
You must have had experience not just maintaining databases but also design and optimisation.
You must have had experience working with open source databases (MySQL and PostgreSQL)
We are also looking for a candidate that can demonstrate previous experience migrating from large legacy databases.

Job Content
1.Monitoring performance and managing parameters
2.Provide fast query responses to 'Front End' users
3.Refining the 'physical design' to meet system storage requirements
4.Installing and testing new versions of the database management system
5.Controlling access permissions and privileges
6.Developing, managing and testing backup and recovery plans
7.Ensuring that storage, archiving, backup and recovery procedures are functioning correctly
Capacity planning
8.Working closely with IT project managers, database programmers and web developers

Work Experience/Qualifications
1.Experience in a 24x7 eCommerce environment
2.Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies
3.Must have minimum 5 years related and relevant IT experience;
3.Post-secondary education in IT or related field, or equivalent work experience;
4.Experience directing the activities of junior staff;
5.Must have experience with formal Software Development Lifecycles;
6.Must be able to work well independently and as a team player;
7.Must have good communication skills, with strong command of written and spoken English
8.Must have general infrastructure knowledge (networking fundamentals, TCP/IP, databases);
9.Must have excellent end user support skills;
