Objective of job

Implementation of Cost Planning Processes to ensure best costs for purchased parts and tooling.

Localization of parts in China based on target costs & calculation and in coordination with Engineering, Purchasing, Logistics, and Manufacturing.

Development of know how of the local market to manage cost& process issues for purchased parts and their tooling.

Set up the relationship between the network of local suppliers, BBAC and VKP Cost Planning to.

Coordinate

Task designation

1 Represent Cost Planning Management – VKP in the relevant forums (assigned Commodity), correlation and collaboration with all relevant internal and external partner to provide relevant data for the project in time.

Prepare relevant data and support internal reporting.

2 Target costing;

Provide Target cost calculation for piece price and tooling costs of local purchased parts.

Initiate, and conduct “Round Tables” with cross functional teams to identify cost saving potentials in a early stage and activate involved suppliers.

3 Cost Negotiation;

Support price negotiations based on a common strategy and in collaboration with the purchase departments of Daimler and BBAC based on an economical point of view.

4 Cost Planning and Local Content Calculation;

Monitoring and planning of all relevant costs as material-, and tool costs.

Local Content Calculation on Part, Key Component and Car Level.

5 Construction of Cost Planning Knowledge for;

 Target cost calculation method & Local content calculation

 Negotiation

 Change management

Construction of know-how & internal know-how transfer and networking;

Extend local cost database for e.g. material-, machine-, and labour costs

Transfer of detailed knowledge

6 Propose and introduce Cost Planning measures to improve and stabilize Cost Planning Processes continuously on supplier and internal partner side.

Qualification required
Education

 Graduated/certified engineer or similar education

Experience

 Several years work experiences in automotive industry (or comparable)

 Knowledge in automotive production processes and cost management

 Experience in comparative cost systems-, calculation

 Multicultural environment experience

Specific Knowledge

 Fluent in written and spoken English, German language skills are appreciated

 Problem solving skills and team orientation

 Computer competencies, e.g. MS Office applications, Lotus Notes, etc.
