About the Role: 

W. L. Gore & Associates Fabric division develops and manufactures highly valued products that inspire people to confidentially achieve more. We are seeking for an experienced Quality Engineer to join in our Shenzhen plant. In this role, you will partner with our New Product Development (NPD) and Process Engineering team members as well as our business units to support the development and supply of Gore-Tex products. The successful candidate will be part of a highly energized and diverse global team practicing technical excellence and driving deep understanding, as well as maintaining a broad capability to commercialize new technologies. You will be working in a team focused on supporting growing needs related to Fabrics applications.

 

Responsibilities:

• Problem-SolvingRoot-Cause Analysis - Staying current on technical knowledge and using effective experimentation to solve well-defined problems in area of focus.Continual Improvement - Increasing extent of technical knowledge and connecting information across multiple disciplines and businesses to solve ambiguous problems.
• Reliable ProcessesStability - Ensuring reliable, environmentally sound, safe, and efficient processes and test methods.Capability - Analyzing and optimizing validated processes and equipment based on product and operational requirements. Designing and developing test methods.
• Product DevelopmentValidation - Assessing product attributes to ensure conformance to specifications and link to fitness-for-use.Cause-Effect Relationships - Transforming user needs into product specifications; defining raw materials and viable manufacturing approaches.
• InnovationCorrective Action - Incorporating diversity of thought to enable optimized solutions; exploring and assessing multiple approaches to solve technical challenges.Rapidly assimilating and connecting vast amounts of knowledge about materials, formats, and capabilities; taking appropriate risks to achieve business goals.
• Achieving the above through interaction with multi-disciplinary teams:Process (PEs and manufacturing), Lab (Production and R&D), Quality (QAs), Technical, Materials (internal and external), and Internal Customer (PS, Inside Sales).

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or above in Chemical, Materials, Textile or Mechanical Engineering Discipline (or other relevant applied science subject) required
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in an engineering, technical, and/or quality role  at an international company
• Proficient in using statistical tools (DoE, SPC, MSA, etc.) and JMP or Minitab software.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize, initiate, and drive projects or trouble shooting to completion (project management skills) in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment.
• Proven written and oral English communication skills 

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with product and process validation in continuous manufacturing;
• Experience with quality system, documentation and methodologies
• Familiarity with textile (external), and film/adhesive (internal), supply chains.
• Experience transitioning new products to manufacturing.
