Duties

The appointee will be required to :

(a) identify business/partnership opportunities based on technologies developed and facilitate to implement collaborative programmes for Knowledge/Technology Transfer (KT) with partnering institutions and corporates both locally and in the Chinese mainland with focus in the Greater Bay Area;

(b) facilitate the commercialisation of Intellectual Properties (IP) in Hong Kong SAR and Chinese mainland;

(c) drive proactively partnership with institutions, local government and corporations for the establishment of innovation or technology transfer centres in the regions;

(d) work closely with faculties and researchers to support the commercialisation of University’s technology;

(e) collect and provide updated policies related to Industry-University-Research collaboration, KT, IP ownership, innovation and entrepreneurship;

(f) oversee the implementation of a portfolio of KT projects and their reportings;

(g) draft and vet licensing agreements;

(h) provide suggestions for quality improvement in operation; and

(i) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Institute or his delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a) have a recognised postgraduate degree in Science, Engineering or a related discipline;

(b) have a good business acumen of the industry or academia in the Chinese mainland;

(c) have at least eight years’ relevant experience, experience in technology commercialisation or incubating technology startups is an added advantage;

(d) have an excellent command of English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Putonghua;

(e) be familiar with national policies and operation models of Industry-University-Research collaboration, Innovation & Technology and entrepreneurship in China;

(f) be familiar with the models of IP commercialisation;

(g) be a good team player with good interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;

(h) have a good logical and critical thinking mindset, problem-solving skills and strong drive for success; and

(i) be good at multitasking.

    香港理工大学于2000年加入深圳虚拟大学园， 并成立香港理工大学深圳研究院； 2004年获批加入深圳虚拟大学国家大学科技园建设，兴建1.25万㎡的产学研大楼；2006年成立理大产学研基地（深圳）有限公司；2010年产学研大楼投入使用，研究院与产学研基地公司合称为深圳基地。
    作为理大在深圳的延伸校园，深圳基地在空间部署、管理、产学研创各方面纳入大学战略，成为理大部署大湾区的重地；获评广东省新型研发机构、深圳市技术转移机构、深圳市和南山区的众创空间，连续十多年获得由深圳市科技主管部门授予的“优秀研究研究”称号。
    基地设有10多个实验室及科研平台，包括3个深圳市重点实验室、2个国家重点实验室深圳分室及1个省部共建国家重点实验室培育基地，承担国家、省市各级政府及业界科研项目，孵化了一批优秀的理大创业团队。
