OUTLINE OF MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

o   Source innovation both independently and as directed by the sourcing manager, design and development team.

o   Source new manufacturing sites within China and other East Asia countries

o   To source newness in fabrications, trims, print applications, accessories.

o   To source newness in innovations, accessories through trends

o   fairs and shows to obtain sources

o   ZDHC support

o   Sustainability support

o   To optimise sourcing procedure to attain a maximum efficiency – allowing newness to be designed into target, cost and critical path

o   Help to set up and maintain a library of new innovation to share with the business

o   To source and develop partner with trustworthy vendors and suppliers

o   To obtain and provide costs associated with product found

 

Personal Requirements:

o   Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

o   To have the ability to think creatively and put creativity to practical use

o   A desire and flair to think creative and recognise opportunities that do not immediately present themselves

o   Strong leadership skills

o   To be self motivated and have proven experience in a textile / toy sourcing role

o   Possess a confident and flexible manner.

o   Be able to work within a team and independently.

o   Good English; spoken and written.

o   Good knowledge of the fabric, trim, accessory and printing “market” within China and nearby countries.

o   Excellent knowledge of Excel.

o   Travelling around China is necessary– Development centre and supply base

o   To be able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines

o   Other tasks as and when required and as directed by your line manager.
