POSITION PURPOSE

The System Administrator must have a deep and broad knowledge of Windows Server Platform and networks. S/He will be responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, and supporting Harrow & ILA schools cloud based server systems.(Azure, AWS, AliCloud etc)

The System Administrator will design and oversee local AD & Cloud based Server, wide area networks, Daily tasks may include installing, upgrading and monitoring software and hardware. The System Administrator will maintain the essentials such as operating systems, business applications, security tools, web-servers, email.

The System Administrator works within the Harrow SH ICT Department and directly reports to the Group ICT.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Ensure design of system allows all components to work properly together
- Make recommendations for future upgrades
- Maintain network and system security
- Troubleshoot problems reported by users and analyze and isolate issues
- Monitor networks to ensure security
- Evaluate and modify system’s performance
- Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security
- Ensure network connectivity throughout a schools LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations
- Design and deploy networks; Maintain network servers such as file servers, and VPN gateways
- Perform network address assignment
- Assign routing protocols and routing table configuration
- Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services
- Administer servers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, IP phones, software deployment, security updates and patches


Network Security
- Establish and maintain protocol for ensuring Windows Server System security.
- Determine and administer user access, privileges and security.
- Be the AISL liaison between the school ICT and the Group ICT. This entails monthly meetings and communicating incident reports, and collecting and providing feedback on security reports.

Hardware/software administration, implementation and development
- Provide leadership and advice on updating versions and patches of server software.


REQUIREMENTS:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, MIS, Business Intelligence, Engineering or related technical discipline. Equivalent work experience in the Information Technology field will be considered;
- Minimum 4+ years’ experience working in information technology field as a System administrator; (MCSE is required)
- Specific experience with Microsoft Operating Systems 2012 R2/2016 R2, and Microsoft Exchange Server 2016 & Office365
- Specific experience with Symantec Backup Exec & Veem etc.
- Experience with Symantec Endpoint Protection
- Experience with VPN Internet and email-filtering appliance is a plus
- Experience with VMware 6.5 including VLAN and Enterprise Plus features
- Experience with iSCSI SANS; Dell EQ and NetApp knowledge is a plus

Desired Qualifications:
- NetApp storage configuration and administration
- VMware installation and administration
- Security knowledge and experience or the desire to be trained
