About the Role: We are looking for a Country Privacy Lead for China to join the global privacy team. The location of this role will be in Shanghai, Shenzhen or Beijing.
As Gore grows globally and with the data privacy regulatory landscape becoming more stringent and complex, the need to build the Privacy team with skilled professionals is critical. In this role, you will work with the Global Privacy Leader to implement adequate technical, administrative, and physical safeguards for personal data and performing on-going monitoring of internal processes. You will help support corporate privacy policies and processes and privacy training and awareness programs. In this role, you will also drive annual monitoring process to ensure privacy risk is mitigated and regulatory documentation is completed.
Responsibilities:
- Support all ongoing activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance of, and adherence to the Gore’s privacy policies and processes within China.
- Leverage subject matter knowledge to analyze issues/risks and make judgments and/or recommendations as appropriate.
- Support programs to assess, prevent and mitigate privacy risk with the China operations.
- Monitor implementation of privacy policies and procedures and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Monitor the documentation, notification and communication of data incidents and breaches locally.
- Consult on privacy impact assessments of new systems and processes with PI with in China.
- Facilitate and promote activities to foster privacy awareness/communications within China.
- Help integrate and operationalize privacy compliance in business processes.
- Point of contact and interface with Chinese Data Protection Authorities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Certified Information Privacy Professional CIPP/A a plus.
- At least 2 years of relevant data privacy experience
- Understanding of China laws affecting personal information such as PI Security Specification and The Cyber Security Law
- Is analytical and detail oriented; able to identify, prioritize and solve problems effectively
- Functions autonomously and deliver results while managing work progress and escalate issues as appropriate
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Bi-Lingual Chinese and English
