About the Industry:  Gore’s pioneering contributions to the science of comfort and protection create fabrics for a range of activities and conditions.

 

About the Role: We are looking for a seam sealing engineer to join our fabric team in Shenzhen who will drive new seam tape development & validation, including existing tape sealability evaluation and troubleshooting for our protective functional fabrics.

Responsibilities: 

? Partnering with local and global team, developing, validating new seam tape and/or seam sealing process window for new products, providing recommendation of sealing process settings and processing advice to garment factories. 

? Applying Gore project management tools, executing hands on operation (~50%). E.g. creating samples, using sewing, sealing and test equipment

? Driving seam sealing related trouble shooting projects/tasks, and communicating with quality, product support and product specialist team as appropriate.

? Owning process of continuous improvement in your area by developing, writing, implementing, reviewing and improving procedures.

? Analyzing data using appropriate and relevant statistical methods.

? Documenting work in written form and presenting to diverse groups as appropriate.

Required Qualifications:

? Bachelor degree or higher in chemical engineering or chemistry discipline

? 3+ years’ experience in a multi-national technology company on test development and performing, or new product/process development

? Experience in driving/participating projects. Demonstrate understanding of business objectives and aligning with project scope, able to identify technical uncertainty, and execute project effectively

? Track record of independent trouble shooting of technical and complex problems, identifying failure mode, determining root cause and proposing practical solutions.

? Ability to communicate technical complex topics in both English and Mandarin (Written and Verbal) clearly.

? Demonstrate basic understanding of statistics, example of reaching conclusions within the context of supporting data.
