Asia QE Role and Responsibility
Primary function is for DOCSIS EMS quality support for Pegatron and Sercomm (possibly Foxconn). Support Tariff transfers and new factory locations
DOCSIS NPI Support
- Request, review, approve quality items in the Pilot Readiness Review checklist (STD-00328) for Flexwave.
- Includes Quality Plan with yield targets, strain gauge, dye and pry, X-ray, CQA sampling plan, etc. They have also facilitated factory P/FMEA on new, unique product models.
- Attend 3X weekly calls with EMS and Suwanee team, reviewing NPI projects.
- Support NPI engineers during on-site visits to resolve quality issues, walk/audit the line (ER and PR), and prepare for mass production.
- Monitor pre-production processes, SOP’s, ESD compliance, multiple ECO and process changes during NPI.
- Help drive the EMS supplier quality team (factory SQE) to resolve any NPI component quality issues and bring in ARRIS component SCQ engineers when needed.
Qualifications:
CPE Quality support for Pegatron, Gemtek, Mitrastar
- Quality Audits – conduct periodic site audits (QMS audits) quality audits, support customer audits
- Runs Triage meetings for DOCSIS issues at Pegatron & Sercomm
- Role requires an experienced quality engineer with a full understanding of the ARRIS (Commscope) products, primarily DOCSIS.
- Individual should have wide-ranging experience with high volume manufacturing, quality related issues in that type of environment, work with a sense of urgency and fully understand effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Must be able to use and understand FMEA’s Control Plans, process capability, Quality Planning.
- Must be able to work independently to meet company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
- Must be able to work with a cross functional team which might include Business Operations, Technical Operations, Test Engineering, Design Engineering and Quality Assurance representatives.
- Drive the EMS QA team to resolve MP quality issues (low test yields, process errors, etc.).
- Request “CAPA” or “8D” reports from EMS to support CAPA’s opened in Agile from ARRIS.
- Verify root causes and corrective action effectiveness, e.g. fixture improvements, SOP changes, poka-yoke, etc.
- Attend 2,3,4,5X weekly calls with EMS factories and Suwanee teams, present the Top Ten and Sustaining Log issues.
- Support/conduct focused audits of production line ESD compliance and BGA removal stations to provide evidence to SoC suppliers of proper handling and ESD controls.
