Critical Job Elements:


The principal software engineer will be a key member of Radisys Level 4 Team in engineering working in the support of Radisys ATCA platform & CPCI platform products. The principal engineer will work in all aspects of the product support and providing input to Radisys new design. This includes providing technical support to the customers and troubleshooting issues on products currently being manufactured. Some project management will be required for more extensive product design modifications. Good communication skills are required for coordinating within multiple functions inside and outside Radisys.


Qualifications:
Education: A bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering is required.
At least 8-10 years experience of software development and customer support
Experience through full life cycle of at least 2 large scale telecom class products
Deep experience in layer2 and layer 3 protocols of Ethernet technology, including Gigabit Ethernet, 10GbE and 40GbE. Especially, experience in high performance Switch/Router design, including telecom switch, L2 or L3 router/switch and 10GE switch are plus.
Experience in high performance embedded CPU boot software development (uboot, Bootloader, etc.), including MIPS and PowerPC structure CPU. Deep knowledge of SDRAM/DDR/DDR2/3 standards.
Experience in Linux requirement
Intensive Experience in language and tools requirement
Familiarity with ATCA, IPMI, AMC standards.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent communication (written and Verbal) in English as well as Chinese, energetic and task oriented, ability to work equally well in both team-oriented and self-directed environment.


Responsibilities: The successful candidate will join sustaining team in the engineering group:


Perform software support and sustaining activities for released Radisys ATCA & CPCI platform products.
Provide trouble shooting to field reported software defects and manufacturing issues and utilize innovative approaches to solve complex technical problems.
Contributing to the design, implementation and documentation of various software modules.
Perform documentation activities, including root cause analysis, solution validation, reviews of designs and tests.
Provide input to development activities for new products or upgrades to existing products.
Rotate to development team to lead projects in new design, design modification, or enhancement with a multi-disciplinary project team.
Analyze product designs to expose potential failures and develop ways to militate against those potential failures.
Develop product verification tools and procedures for use in the sustaining team.
