Job Title: Regional Operations Director, MSpa China, Korea and North Asia
Department: Operations
Job Group: DI
Reporting Line: Managing Director, MSpa International Limited


A. Job Purpose
The Regional Operations Director for China, Korea and North Asia is part of the core
leadership team of MSpa International Limited. Geographic scope today consists of
individual spa units in the China, Korea and North Asia. The Regional Operations Director has
responsibility to set regional business strategy in conjunction with the Managing Director of
Mspa International Limited, and then to lead the implementation of that strategy. This
includes accountability for the overall performance of spas within the region and oversight of
all activities associated with the pre-opening processes for new build units. This person is
also responsible for the expansion of the region under management, by sourcing new deals,
and negotiation of new spa management agreements.

B. Job Responsibilities
1. Regional Operations Leadership. Set the business strategy of the region in conjunction with the Managing Director of Mspa, and oversee the performance of the individual spas to maximise revenue and profit, deliver the brand promise operationally, and look after our people. It is mutually understood that this role is not an on site day-to-day operational role in any one specific unit, and that time will be allocated as required to ensure the success of all spa units within the region. The spa managers and directors in the region report into the Regional Operations Director.
2. Partner Relationship Management. Work with the hotel GM's to ensure that the hotel and spa are working together constructively and collaboratively. Maintain a positive relationship with the hotel management, and also the Ownership interests, on behalf of MSpa International.
3. New Openings. Coordinate all activities for the on-time, on-brand and on-budget opening of new MSpa units within the region. Work closely with Mspa colleagues in Bangkok corporate office to ensure that training and development support is provided.
4. Regional Growth. In line with the business strategy once agreed, you will take responsibility for driving the expansion of MSpa in China, Korea and North Asia through the deal sourcing & negotiation of other projects with third-party partners. New deals are subject to the approval of the MSpa Managing Director and COO, and are to be negotiated within the existing MSpa termsheet and parameters
5. Team Leadership and Management. Develop the Spa Managers of the individual units to be able to fully perform the role of a Spa Manager. Conduct performance management and career planning for all managers and staff within the region.
6. Availability of Talent. Work with the hotels and the Training school to ensure that our Supply and Demand for therapists is balanced, and that we are producing people with the right skills at the right time.



C. Job Specification
? Knowledge of the luxury China, Korea and North Asia luxury spa market. Ability to evaluate business trends and modify business strategies accordingly
? Financial management skills including the ability to analyze financial results, develop operating budgets, forecasting and capital expenditure planning
? Marketing and Selling: Being able to put together a comprehensive marketing & sales plan for the region
? Past operational leadership responsibility for multi-unit spas
? Past responsibility for sourcing and negotiating new spa management agreements on behalf of a spa operations management company
? Ability to drive increased Retail revenues through effective positioning and merchandising
? Knowledge of Regional governmental regulations and safety standards
? Ability to manage customer preference, loyalty and satisfaction
? Ability to network and build relationships to grow the business
? Ability to exercise flexibility rather than rigid adherence to procedures in order to accomplish goals
? Effective decision-making skills; can choose a course of action amongst options involving uncertainty or risk
