Job Description
Position Description:
A dynamic and instinctive individual to support business development and client relations. The primary responsibilities include the following:
1. Provide technical expertise to key accounts in order to further develop client relationships with brands and retailers for our labor compliance services;
2. Collaborate with other Program Managers to maintain ongoing client relationshipsand program calibration in China and Hong Kong;
3. Contribute to the development and implementation of quality assurance initiatives;
4. Overseeing technical and continuous improvement projects under tight deadlines;
5. Liaise with relevant multi-stakeholder bodies & NGOs as needed;
6. Conduct training and skills enhancement where required (internally and for clients);
7. Contribute to SOP development as needed;
8. Think "outside the box" with regards to modifying our existing services to drive better results, and support creating new services to best suit client priorities;
9. Interact and work closely with China Operating Offices on meeting client expectations;
10. Ability to travel for business development and client meetings, as well as potential periodic trips to other office locations (e.g., China, US, UK, etc.).
Qualifications:
1. High level of integrity and honesty;
2. 5+ years of experience in the Ethical Sourcing/Labor Compliance arena either for a brand/retailer or service provider;
3. Understanding of the limitations of most brand compliance programs in order to help add additional value through alternative scheme application and recommendations;
4. Well-connected and credible within the retail and brand compliance community;
5. Highly organized and attentive to detail;
6. Ability to network and undertake business development duties as needed;
7. Ability to work independently;
8. Global experience and/or experience working in a global operating environment;
9. Excellent written and verbal English and one additional language (preferred); and
10. Ability to manage other people and projects.
Compensation:
Based on experience & background. Compensation will include incentives for business relationship growth (bonus, etc.), full benefits, and a salary based on candidate experience and background.
Reporting Line:
Reports to the Country Director, China; will also work closely with London and San Francisco management teams
