1.Hiring, coaching and managing team. Facilitate bids among qualified vendors, conduct cost comparison and assess samples and make presentation/recommendation to US. Win the trust and maintain a good relationship with the US own brand team and the merchants. Being creative in the way of presenting products to US.

2.Overseeing the selection of vendors to ensure only the best is selected based on our principles and criteria, searching for new / innovative product, understanding of the market trends of managed categories/products.

3.Actively involved in the project management process - factory audits, manufacturing agreement, product development, product testing, PLI, packaging design and shipping etc to ensure speed to market.

4.Managing vendor relation – help with daily communications between the supplier and Staples, including QA, QC and operations, pay special attention to vendor innovative product development, quality and on-time delivery through working closely with other departments as well as Vendors. He/or She will need to work closely with our counterparts back in HQ the States.

5.Understand clearly the structure and the developments of our competitors, which includes, current product being developed, which vendors they currently work with and understand their current structure.                     

                                                                                                         

Job Requirements:

 

1. EE education background. A minimum 8-10 years working experience in sourcing field.

2.Strong personality with his/her own views and perspective. Ability to present thoughts logically.

3.Self-motivated, fast learner who works well in a fast paced, and changing environment.

4.Highly organized, result-driven mind, excellent follow-up skills and the ability to successfully interface with partners internally (other functions in Asia and PD functions in US) and externally (with suppliers).

5.Ability to plan and manage multiple projects.

6.Team player with excellent analytical problem solving skills.

7.Perform all tasks with minimum supervision in a timely fashion.

8.Organize members as a team and act as project leader, demonstrating proactive acts.

9.Provide input and leadership in identifications and optimization of supplier matrix (ie ability to understand the dynamics of supply markets and advise the allocation of biz and partnership with right suppliers). Also thus utilize such in negotiations with suppliers.

10.Cost comparison and analysis of cost breakdown.

11.Competency in databases and spreadsheets word, PowerPoint and etc.

12.Fluent in English and Mandarin
