Position Description:

Diodes’ Automotive Business group is looking for a highly motivated Automotive Applications Engineer to work in our Shenzhen, China location who can effectively and efficiently, drive new automotive design wins at target customer accounts across the china region and assist the regional marketing manager to growth automotive business in China. The position is focused on understanding the market trends, the competition, and the end customer application / system requirements while working closely with our Global team of field applications engineers, sales, SEC (solutions engineering centers) and Business Unit personnel. The position also carries responsible for developing new product ideas and supporting the business units in project selection, successful product launch and design wins at these targeted customers.

Specific duties include:

• Drive new application projects in partnership with other engineering, sales and business and customer teams.

• Develop intimate knowledge of standard products (both mature and new) in end automotive applications

• Provide technical support and design-in support to customer for selected marketing projects-(e.g. customer board analysis, models, demo boards, development kits, technical documentation)

• Work with the sales, Account manager and Acctount-FAE to support/Track design-in project s in strategy/key customers as defined by marketing.

• Drive critical business initiatives aligned with the automotive strategy and with regional automotive market, ensuring new products design-wins and identifying gaps/opportunities for new products ideas.

• Platforms – Align major OEMs design platforms with local suppliers and provide guidance for China OEM design wins in the regions.

• Define new product ideas, support project selection, assist successful product launch and drive design wins

• Support the creation and presentation of system solutions, demos and collateral to be used at shows and customer sites

• Provide direct technical support and training to our field applications, distribution and OEM sales and business units

• Develop close working relationships with China customers including Tier 1's, OEMs, Tier2's, and new entrants.

• Understand technical trends in the market and provide input to regional BU on focus growth areas/customers.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering

• 5+ years’ experience in a similar position, especially in vehicle electrification.

• Strong technical background in the semiconductor industry and in automotive hardware design, car infotainment/BMS technical background is preferred.

• A track record of proven success in automotive applications positions, with demonstrated results in achieving design in and wins

• Must be proficient and knowledgeable in the following areas: automotive systems expertise, application circuit design, car infotainment application etc.

• Mandatory to have good written and oral communication skills in English.

• Self-motivated individual who can learn new application projects and can work well with other engineering and business teams.

Required Skills:

• Excellent technical skills (semiconductor, hardware, software, systems architecture) car infotainment/BMS applications engineering experience.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong Knowledge of semiconductor automotive product portfolios.

• Excellent relationship building and influencing skills.

• Strong presentation Skills.

• Proficient in English language
