MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

   1. The Assortment Planning Analyst partners with Assortment Planners in the US primarily during Business Reviews (BR) and Product Line Reviews (PLR), to drive analytical support during the review milestones of Business Reviews / Product Line Reviews and partner with the Merchandising Organization in developing go-forward strategy. Typical analyses include:

• External Marketplace and Competitor Analysis
• Internal Category Analysis
• Line Structure, Price point offerings and profitability
• Vendor / Brand offerings and profitability
• Key product attribute offerings and profitability
• Customer insight and basket attachment
• Inventory management by store volumes
• Geography and Clustering performance of category
• Online performance analytics for interconnected retail

   2. Track performance of merchandising decisions including review post reset review

   3. Conduct cost comparison and quantify impact of merchandising decisions during the Product Line Review / Product Line Reviews

   4. Provide vendor or SKU financial performance to Asia Sourcing Office

   5. Ad-hoc analyses 

The Assortment Planning Analyst will provide subject matter expertise and analytical support to category decisions made by the Merchandising Organization. The person in this role should be able to integrate new sources of data and place them into context of the review objectives. He/she will be accountable for accuracy, thoroughness, thought process, ability to manage timeliness, and viability of recommendations. Within the context of Business Reviews / PLRs, develop connections with cross-functional partners to further the analytical insight brought to a category review or the viability of executing review outcomes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor Degree in Finance, Statistics, Business Analytics or comparable field

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & Competencies (Competitiveness, Composure, Courage, Curiosity and Functional Competencies)

  

• Excellent communication skills, English proficiency, able to communicate well verbally and write compelling presentations and result summaries

•  Excellent analytical skills, including demonstrated aptitude with financial analysis and ability to generate insight from large and complex data sets; proficient with PowerPoint, Excel, Tableau, SQL or Google BigQuery, Tableau, R or Python

• Experience with retail method of accounting is a plus, and experience with BI and data mining tools are preferred
