• Lead a team of product development and process engineers, for highly engineered consumer electronic accessory products, working closely with product design, engineering and quality functional teams
• Manage our supply base partners in the design and development of world-class manufacturing processes for new development projects with demanding geometric and cosmetic requirements
• Be responsible for defining manufacturing specifications by demonstrated process capability to the industrial and product design functional teams
• Manage the definition of processes through design of experiments including all process parameters & a thorough understanding of materials properties and limitations
• Become the technical expert for new manufacturing processes through engagement with both equipment and materials suppliers
• Collaborate with the internal engineering team and the supply chain team on product design and manufacturing feasibility, along with definition of the cosmetic requirements for new projects
• Take a leading role by providing direction to the team for the product development process by completing Design for Manufacturing (DFM) on client specifications & influence client specifications through design recommendations and the use of statistical tools
• Evaluate the process and tooling requirements for new projects, review supplier capabilities, and influence supplier selection
• Implement continuous process improvement measures from initial product design through to production ramp of new development projects

Requirments:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar

-10+ years' experience in a product development role with 5+ years' experience in an engineering team or product development team management role

Strong technical experience of soft goods or consumer electronics accessory product development along with manufacturing process development

- Demonstrated ability in driving the product development of soft goods or consumer electronics accessory products with challenging tolerance and cosmetic requirements

-Demonstrated DFM experience and proven track record of innovative process solutions for high volume consumer electronic products

Demonstrated hands-on mechanical ability and understanding of the quality requirements for highly engineered consumer electronic accessory products

Demonstrated project management skills, problem solving skills and a proven track record of supplier management

Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills is a must

Must be able to function independently, be a strong team leader and decision maker with an ability to effect change through influence
