General overview

Reporting to the Pre-Production Director at the China office, the Pre-Production Manager is responsible for ensuring that technical packages are complete and used by suppliers and QC to ensure production matches the confirmation sample and applicable specifications.


Key Responsibilities

? Control the schedule of pre-production activities, from sample completeness to technical review to QC intervention
? Review the pre-production technical package, including applicable specifications, reference sample completeness, pricing specification and related items for consistency
? Review fitting team's results on confirmation sample fitting trials and ensure supplier corrects fitting issues noted.
? Help resolve any material sourcing/specification issue with suppliers
? Help solve the technical issues when full size run is developed
? Review and check full size run samples for match to confirmation sample
? Update quality plans for QC to follow up on critical technical elements during production
? Coordinate fitting validation with "top of production " samples
? Help QC and Pre-Production Technician resolve the technical issue in production
? Perform various tasks to support ALDO Far East and Corporate projects, as well as administrative and clerical tasks
Key Requirements

? Post-secondary education e.g. - technical or university-level training (footwear technology and materials, commerce, distribution, operations)
? At least 10 years experience in a technical role in footwear pre production technical development
? Must understand footwear production, technical construction, lasts and patterns
? Must master technical elements for footwear fitting for comfort and quality
? Operating knowledge of MS-Office applications and mail programs such as G-Mail
? Strong interpersonal and communication skills, as the position requires interaction with corporate divisions, suppliers, and different levels of management
? Detail oriented, problem solver/analytical
? Must work well under pressure and with deadlines
? Well-organized, able to work with minimal supervision
? Excellent written and oral Mandarin language, as well as good written and oral language English skills.
