The Fabrics Division of W.L. Gore & Associates (Shenzhen), Ltd. is seeking for a proven electrical engineer with design experience to provide electrical engineering support for our manufacturing operations, product development and new capital equipment projects.

The hire is an addition to the Engineering team located at Fabrics Shenzhen FTZ plant. And it is a key role for the continuously developing our business with GORE-TEX ® fabrics.

  

In this role, you will perform electrical design, specification, installation, startup, validation and support for new and existing process and test equipment in a world-class company. The successful candidates are expected to perform excellence in:

  

• Understanding and providing solutions to resolve process and operational constraints (drives, PLC programming, HMI's, wiring schematics, power systems, instrumentation, and motor control systems.)

• Understand and identify process risk, control measures& EHS impact; recommend to process and/or equipment to improve equipment robustness

• Be the expert in diagnosing and repairing problems, identify weak links and solutions in machinery.

• Design, purchase, install, validate and support equipment/machines used to manufacture products that are the highest quality in their class

        

• Leading and/or being a team member of equipment projects with cross functional representatives of process engineer, mechanical engineer, IT, facilities, skilled trades and procurement from start to finish, including hands-on participation in functional spec development, resource coordination, purchasing and machine startup activities (installation, start-up, qualification of equipment)
• Partner with NPD, process engineers, mechanical engineers & operations to improve/upgrade existing equipment; working with vendors to design, purchase, install and validate next-generation equipment
• Generating PM plan, troubleshooting existing processing and R&D equipment
• Developing and implementing accurate equipment documentation
• Working closely with workshop associates and providing mentorship for mechanical expertise; also working effectively with other colleagues like other Process Engineers, Production and R&D associates
• Providing field supervision of contractors for installation of new equipment
• Supporting equipment buyers to look for professional equipment / devices suppliers and participating in certifying the suppliers
• Maintains awareness of emerging technologies and trends.
• Utilizing the quality system/continuous improvement practice to facilitate the execution and implementation of the efforts listed above

  

Qualifications  

B.S. or above Degrees in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering or Automation Control areas.

6~8 years direct applicable experience in PLC programming, HMI interface programming, AC Drives and control and CAD drawing. Textile, printing, paper or glass electrical relative industry experience is preferred.

Demonstrated hands-on capability in machines, including PLC programming, electrical installation and commissioning, stay focusing on the technologies, machine safety practices, and engineering fundamentals & capability of using it in work, successful track record of trouble shooting about control system.

Demonstrated project management & implementing experience, strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize, initiate, and drive projects to completion.

Strong team player, high initiative, easy going and ready to share valuable experience with others.

• Ability to effectively communicate technical matters clearly and concisely to all stakeholders, both orally and in written reports
• Ability to interact and work effectively with cross functional teams and a diverse group of associates
• Demonstrated success in coaching, mentoring and development of peers or new members in technically complex areas.

Upgrading system, new production line & new equipment startup experience preferred.

Eager and fast to learn new things

Good reading/writing/verbal English skills.

Willingness to travel periodically (up to 5~10%).
