License Sourcing / Business Unit Interface working in conjunction with Development Engineering to develop low cost platforms for various product segments. 

Job Responsibilities:

? Develop and execute software and license strategies for consumer products, through alignment with International product development team, engineering, quality, and manufacturing. Requires knowledge of consumer electronics technology and product roadmaps and specific expertise in procurement and licensing costs and requirements. 

? Facilitate the engagement between supply chain, finance and senior stake holders within the BU. Serve as an escalation/communication point for the licensing team in China and help develop and communicate processes regarding the use, tracking and reporting of software and other intellectual property. 

? Responsible to manage and make critical decisions on all aspects of supplier relationship including contracts, commercial/pricing, supply assurance and conflict resolution. 

? Maintain key supplier relationships with software and license providers 

? Manage the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process and supplier selection process 

? Contract and price negotiations with suppliers for current and future business 

? Creation of make or buy analysis in consideration of alternative system designs / solutions 

? Support and drive technical discussions between suppliers and internal interfaces to ensure technical requirements are met by suppliers at best possible commercial terms 

? Preparation and presentation of reports and status updates for internal customers ? Search and identification of new and alternative partners and suppliers 

Basic Qualifications: 

? Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Engineering, preferably with majors in Business Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, Software, Engineering, Finance or similar 

? Minimum of 5 years previous work experience in the management or procurement of Software and Licenses 

? Passion for new technologies, media and system software 

? Experienced in creation and negotiation of contracts 

? Experienced with MS Office applications, SAP/R3 is optional 

? Strongly engaged, motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision 

? Business fluent in English ? Execute effective supplier negotiations and event driven cost reductions to meet annual cost reduction goals 

? Build appropriate senior level supplier relationships 

? Establish goals, improvement plans, business reviews and monthly reporting related to areas of responsibility
