Job title: Hardware Verification Engineer

Location: CN - Shanghai

General summary:

Quality is one of Sonos’ highest priorities. As a Hardware Verification engineer you will be responsible for owning the verification of all the relevant hardware sub-systems which make up our products and for ensuring that the system level hardware product quality meets or exceeds the level that our customers have come to expect. You will be an integral member of the product development team, defining verification strategies, defining and implementing individual verification tests designed to ensure that our hardware functions as specified. You will have overall responsibility for hardware quality and performance verification throughout the product development lifecycle. This includes writing test plans and schedules, developing automated testing, communicating the results, documenting and investigating failures and working with our manufacturing organization to ensure a smooth transition into volume manufacturing.

Your main duties and responsibilities:

Define system verification strategies and plans including verification of multiple sub-assemblies and diagnostic and system software.

Develop comprehensive product level design verification test plans.

Own execution and tracking of HW Reliability and performance testing at Asian sites.

Document test results and perform failure analysis. Capture, analyze, and summarize defect details. Drive and own root cause analysis of all failures found during HW testing.

Review sub-assembly (or module level) design verification plans.

Develop and implement automated and manual system verification tests.

Make recommendations to the design team for corrective actions.

Develop regression test suites and documentation.

Ensure and review the quality of all stages reliability test across all products.

Assist contract manufacturers with HW reliability test activities at their site.

Qualifications:

BSEE, BSME or equivalent.

5+ years’ experience in a hardware design environment with demonstrable experience driving product quality.

Knowledge of analog electronics hardware (transducers, amplifiers, power supplies…), digital electronics (computer architecture, memory, AD DA converters…), materials and mechanical engineering, Wireless communications, Audio and acoustic expertise is a strong plus.

Excellent cross functional communication skills with a multi-site development team. Ability to communicate effectively in both Chinese and English

Excellent written communication skills in both Chinese and English.

Experience with integrating multiple sub-systems including software is a strong plus.

Experience using Linux. Scripting languages for automated testing. Perl preferred, python and TCL/Expect a strong plus.

Preferred:

Experience working with Asian suppliers.
