Job Responsibilities:

The primary day-to-day accountability of the Direct Buyer will be to support the direct category managers in the creation and maintenance of supplier master data.

Direct responsibilities will include:

• Creation and maintenance of SAP Purchasing Information Records, Scheduling Agreements(not delivery schedules) and Source Lists

• Complete system task requests in the published cycle time committed and maintain the status to provide transparency for the category manager on completion

• Contact suppliers to attain missing data needed for system updates

• Act as a liaison between category managers and Material Planning/Supplier Quality Engineers to help expedite the set up vendors and SAP records needed to complete purchase orders

• Issue resolution related to order management with Material Planning, specifically related to part shortage situations

• Ensure compliance to ordering from non-qualifies secondary sources

• Assure correctness of vendor master data and relevant purchasing data in various systems

• Interact with internal stakeholders and external suppliers

Indirectly responsible under the guidance of Sourcing or Operations Management

• Identify opportunities for implementation of best practices, process improvements, standardization across all divisions within Harman

• Execution of stated goals and objectives toward the defined annual operating and strategic plans of Harman where applicable.

• Represents Harman procurement/supplier interests within Harman towards all functions, levels and stakeholders regionally and globally as applicable.

Basic Qualifications:

• Require a degree in Procurement, Business Services, Business Operation, Supply Chain Management, Materials management, or related field.

• 2-4 years Desired experience in supporting procurement activities

• English language fluency

Preferred Qualifications & Desired Competencies:

• Good understanding of SAP as related to direct material management

• Good understanding of the P2P (Purchase-to-Pay) Processes

• Excel, PowerPoint, strong reporting and analytical skills to summarize large amounts of data

• Strong initiative and ownership of their area
