Purpose
The IKEA vision is to create a better everyday life for the many. IKEA China will side with the many in the growing urban population, those that have big dreams & increasing needs on the share of wallet. Supporting IKEA being more accessible and securing growth, a rapid expansion will be realised in the coming years. With a dedicated focus, Marketing Expansion will optimise the contribution of marketing into the establishment of new stores, contributing to efficiency and growth for IKEA and a more accessible, relevant and affordable experience for customers.
Mandate
The Marketing Expansion Responsible works as a member of the Service Office marketing function, the Retail Expansion Working Group and within individual projects to establish the marketing base, secure the marketing contribution to projects and ensure that the expansion needs are integrated with the running business. Focusing only on expansion/new stores and taking the necessary actions and decisions to secure the right input and output at the right time, improved communication and project follow up, with value for money spend within and across projects to achieve greater effectiveness and efficiencies.
Main responsibilities and duties
Be the single contact point for marketing expansion
? For SO marketing, retail functions, on site project leaders, local marketing and property and expansion.
? Ensure that the relevant stakeholders are informed, updated and involved as required
Establish the marketing base & co-ordinate the store opening campaign
? Prepare and submit the Marketing investment requests, together with line manager
? Maintain a timeline of all projects for marketing, that is aligned with running business
? Create and maintain individual marketing project timelines
? Kick off the store opening campaign in SO Marketing and co-ordinate marketing milestone/checkpoint meetings and make decisions to ensure integration of marketing functions and opening plan and that deadlines and budget are met
? Co-ordinate guidelines and timeline for introduction of Local Marketing Managers & FAMILY Managers in new markets
? Update and develop the generic marketing process
? Identify efficiencies across projects and develop new ways of working to support this
? Develop the framework for how to working with marketing in the IKEA China shopping centres
Contribute to delivering 3 projects per year plus rebuilds/refurbishments in a consistent and efficient manner.
? Represent the marketing function in the Retail Expansion working group and other relevant groups that may be established within this
? Document and standardize marketing input into the store establishment process
? Work with other function expansion persons to align milestones and input to projects
? Document and provide clear, standard information to projects (current global or China adapted)
? Develop resource plan based on the China Expansion and Marketing Plans
? Follow up projects and bring learnings into future projects (REWG & Marketing function)
? Project Leader in individual projects until the on-site Project Leader is on board
? Handover to and then support the on-site Project leader throughout the project
