Product Development Engineeer
Zenith Products Corporation is recruiting a Product DevelopmentEngineerfor our office in China. Zenith is a well-established, medium-sized company located in New Castle, Delaware in the United States. Zenith manufactures consumer products sold in most major US retail stores in categories including shower curtain rods, liners and rings, mirrored medicine cabinets, shower caddies, as well as wood, wire, and plastic shelving and storage cabinets.
The role of the Product DevelopmentEngineer is to provide engineering expertise in support of ourResearch and Developefforts to aid in the development of new and innovative products. With a focus on Design, this individual will work with our internal staff as well as directly with our vendors to design new innovative products with new materialsand concepts. This position reports directly to theR&D Supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
5 to 8 years of engineering experience
Engineering degree in related field
Strong 3D computer skills (Solidworks) and Engineering Control Drawing experience
In depthknowledgeand experience with manufacturing techniques, materials, and processes while continually keeping up to date with new concepts
Ability to travel to vendor locations in China
Flexible hours to work with US office as required and to meet deadlines
Demonstrated ability to lead projects from beginning to end
Provide technical support to vendor partners as required
Excellent communication and time management skills
Exceptional analytical skills
Must be highly organized
Excellent problem solving skills
Develop and clearly document the new design for manufacture
Preferred Experience:
Ready to Assemble (RTA) furniture for mass retail
Wire and metal tubular products and processes
Plastic materials and processes
Wood materials and construction
Products for mass retail
Additional Desired Experience and Abilities:
Ability to multi-taskand simultaneously work on several new product projects
Must thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Extensive knowledge of Metal forming and stamping, plastic injection molding, zinc casting, painting, and plating processes
Thorough project management experience
